Seems like everyone seems to think the songs bashing american society. It's easy to jump in that boat and talk about (whether you are American or not) whats wrong with the world. Problem with that logic is the song and album title "Bleed American." When you say you Bleed American it means you are a patriot. If you bleed something, it means its so a part of who you are that it practically runs through your veins. Blood has always been extremely symbolic. Still not positive about the meaning. It's not a very long song. But I took a different take on "Sign up the picket line or the parade" To me thats saying either be happy with what you have or do something to change it. |

A couple people wanted to know exactly what shimmy meant, and through its meaning its apparent why they used it i heard someone ask if it was a dance It is a dance, or at least thats one of its meanings, its a belly dance, the body is held still, but the shoulders alternate back and forth. its a dance moved used in many dances today, its also a belly dancing move where the hips move up and down via bending of each knee, perhaps they use 'shimmy' as sex, because of the movement done in the dance move? shimmy also means chemise, so that could be too Websters def. of shimmy the noun is... 1. chemise (which for those of u that dont know, is a womens undergarment) 2. jazz dance characterized by a shaking of the body from the shoulders down The verb is just to quiver or shake as if doing a shimmy |
