This was truely a brilliant, brilliant song!! Dunno wtf it means, never spent time figuring it out. Something about him making peace in him self and trying to force his ways on eveyone...
I dunno why everybody is still going on about Creed...they're long past, they broke up! If you want to hear Scott Bitching about how unfair his life is, and preaching about God, go get his solo album, if you want to hear the old band, listen to ALTER BRIDGE!!! They are the shit... Same band different lead singer. ALL HALE MARK TREMONTI!!! Best guitarist in the world! (by personal apinion) |

Ventifact...I think your in part right, but your missing one big aspect of the song, he longs for the child within himself, or the song/vibration that used to sing, because he is lost in "maya" meaning "Illusion" or the outer world around us, in the song it seems that he has lost touch with himself or the sun/son, the light aspect of his life which can only be found inside of him. And nowhere else. Rather than using the Jesus Christ theory I would rather go for the Christed center which is within all of us. The Oneness... |

Perfectly explained akh...
On their best of album Ed Kowalczyk explained exactly what it means. It's not about a woman dying at birth, yes the song is dedicated to some lady by the name of barbara, but the song is about life, death & rebirth, and the endless cycle we all go through, and how we always learn through our experiences, using a mother and child at child birth is an extremely great way of doing it! |
