The Postal Service – Clark Gable Lyrics 18 years ago
this is my interpretation of the song:

Something on the train triggers the guy to come to the realization all he really has wanted is true love...he also realizes, however, that so far, he has only seen this love in movies, stories, etc.
He thought he previously found this love in his ex-girlfriend, but obviously (they are broken up) it wasn't real. He calls her up and asks her to "pretend [they] are in love again." He makes a movie about their "love." It wasn't real, but in the movies it seems true.
On screen, love looks perfect; in life, perfection is impossible.

I'm not sure if this is too literal or over-analytical...
The message, however is beautiful- who doesn't want "to believe That 'there is truth, that love is real'"
Great lyrics.

Mika – Grace Kelly Lyrics 19 years ago
It's a great, up-beat, catchy song...his voice does sound very similar to Freddie Mercury's- it was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the song.

I agree with "monkeykillzbanana."

Also, I sense a tone of sarcasm particularly in the lines "Be afraid of the lame, they'll inherit your legs Be afraid of the old, they'll inherit your souls."

A great, thought-provoking song!

Regina Spektor – Back of a Truck Lyrics 19 years ago
"There's a back of a truck selling crumb free bread..." i think this part of the song could be about people trying to sell anything for their own benfit...even if what they are selling it isn't real- kind of like a scam artist...

whatever it means though, i love regina ;)
