To me, this song is about wandering around town "punch drunk" and sort of philosophizing. Kind of getting lost inside of your head while drunk. I love the whole part about hitch hiking and forgetting your name. It's my favorite song on the new album. A few weeks after i heard the song I got wicked drunk on a Friday night and decided to walk around campus (UMASS!) In my drunken stupor I imagined myself inside of this song. Eventually I hitched a ride back to my dorm and thought for one evening I was exactly like Brandon Boyd. It was pretty sweet. |
