As many of you have already said, I think the song is about love, and that the biblical imagary os only a symbol. But to me there can be also another message, behind the lyrics: a human love can be as deep and sacred as a divine one, and all acts of human love - even sex - can be something equal to prayers. That was the first thing I thought about, when I first heard it. There is also a beautiful version from an Italian singer called Elisa (I came to know the song thanks to her). |
