This definitely has connections with the gossip/slander thing everyone is talking about but as a tooth and nail band i personally doubt they'd be talking about how they wanted to kill a slut, that's my idea anyway.

In our day, an idea of valuing yourself and sticking to virtue or Biblical morals could be considered outdated, and just not something even considered (tangible). That's my take on that line. |

this line is really important i thing: 'we're all guilty of the same things/we think the thoughts whether or not we see them through'. God says that to Him hating someone is the same as killing them... thinking lustful thoughts is the same as commiting adultery. A person who thinks and a person who acts are both guilty of the same thing. BUT 'I know that I have been forgiven'... so the first lines of the chorus tell us of sin then the second two assure us that all is not lost, we can and will be forgiven. That's what i get from it anyway. Peace :) (btw i agree with gahenderson.. this is not a site for bashing songs!) |

all you who have been arguing about whether freddie means fred astaire or freddie mercury, have you ever thought of the possibility that it refers to both? mika is allowed to have double meanings isn't he? also i thought this was a site for discussing song meanings, not discussing the artists sexuality, unless of course it has relevancy to the meaning of the song. i would happily accept and argument that in this case it does. |
