I was kinda skeptical going into this song, not being religious at all and one might see why the title "saviour" might put me off. but i found it on youtube the day of its release, and played it for the rest of the day. i stayed up till midnight for the release of the video and watched that for a while. oh and its the top played song on my iTunes. by a landslide. and at 2:21 i get chills everytime. when she says save me, i feel like saying pick an organ its yours. lol.
but meaning wise i agree with LovelyMauve. we all need that one person to run to, that can make us feel safe with. that we can do the stuff we did as kids with and be alright with that. its alright to feel not in control when you're with this person because you feel like they can help right wrongs and shake off the dust thats turned you to rust. |

ya i can confirm it's about WoW. on her show in Kingston on Dec 2nd she said, "Here's a song I wrote about my favourite video game" and I knew it had to be Lions! The show was spectacular. I think the whole, hunter/marked deal was a bit of a give away lol. |

i was listening to this song alot and i think i've come to a solid conclusion.
this song is kinda encouraging you to believe in something... more i guess. don't be scared to believe in aliens or unicorns? i guess if you want to. it seems she believes that our train of thought is being restricted and she wants us to believe that theres something out there magical. it is not physically possible for shadows to be white i mean thats what makes them shadows, but hey if you want to believe something can? feel free! |

what this boils down to, to me, is that those 3 small words that mean everything. the way it looks is that she wants a little more from her guy friend, not physically but emotionally. she wants him to open up to her, (all i need is, just a little emotion) since shes not getting that, and its obviously desired. and hes solid and cold like a block of ice, not warming up to her, so she gets pissed. and shes angry making apologizing to him. so ya she (this is all hypothetical) leaves the guy friend because she wasnt getting anything at all from him. so he'll stay there being spiteful and angry cause she left him but she might have helped him learn a lesson and to open up in further relationships.
i love how she ends it with ice, ice baby.

what i think he's trying to saying is that he has all these people around him who try to get to him but he hasn't really bonded with them at all therefore spending his life alone.
and it's kind of obvious that this song is pretty straight forward but maybe that's what he's getting at. he's tried to be clever and witty but it's never worked so he's just desperate now. so instead of trying to hide his affections he's just leaving them there out in the open. anyway that's all folks. |
