'I am the speaker but what is responsibility?' I am telling you this but should I really? 'This is beg of you, build me brick upon brick.' Please help me understand what is going on! 'High tides; waves of hypocrisy.' It's close to me - being a hypocrite. 'I didn't think the clock struck more than twelve times.' Am I hallucinating? As if at night you have stayed awake hearing the clock strike and you suddenly hear it strike 13. 'I decided to name her insomnia.' I've stayed awake many a night thinking about a woman. 'Her teeth (show) like white seeds in a scarlet fruit' She looks pure and lovely but actually she is hellish. 'This I must tell you, old friend: fear beauty.' Some people look great but they can turn out to be really not. 'This is meager, this is feeble.' Why was I so stupid to think she was great?! 'She was only a fiction and my creation' I thought of her as a great work and built her up in my mind to be awesome but it turned out I just thought of her as this and she wasn't so in real life. Perhaps the song is about a man (or lesbian woman though I should guess it were a man) who meets a woman and thinks she is really great because she looks gorgeous, but then he finds out slowly that she is not so and finds out he was stupid to think of her as so great and really needs help understanding this because he wonders if he is still hallucinating about her, since he made the mistake of thinking she was awesome in the first place. Just my interpretation :] |

I think it could have 2 meanings. Either, the more obvious example of Satan tricking us, or the idea of what drugs does to us. From the shadows of the stars Comes a man with no face, soul of million scars An evil Count, The End of Days He knows our ways and This line could either mean a time when Satan comes into our life, an "evil count" who can "end our days" by tempting us. Or it could mean a drug who "scars" our arms and our bodies who "knows our ways" because it controls our actions. Takes full advantage when we cannot see Makes us live in an altered reality Could mean either that Satan takes advantage of us making us blind to goodness and altering our vision. Or could mean a drug that takes full contorl of our body and alters our vision of the world. To get a hold of the only seed We must make them all see bloodshed that is he Splitting hairs is not the key Water to fire To help people, we must warn people about Satan/drugs. We must not split hairs and worry about these things and waste time thinking about how we must overcome them, we must extinguish them like "water to fire". One flash of light and for good we are gone No-one to wonder what we have done New breed of ignorance, new circle will start Unless we try real hard We are knocked out by the drugs/Satan totally overcomes us. Not too sure about those lines. When you wake up, was it a dream All the sick paradigmas all around the world In the mean time, Count, he leaves His job is done When you wake up after this, perhaps knocked out by drugs, you wonder what happened and if you were dreaming. Meanwhile, the drugs are out of your system, they've done their job. Either that or Satan leaves you alone after tricking you because his is evil. i think perhaps it is this guy who wants to talk to a woman and eventually have a relationship with her and "mount" her, but he doesn't know what to say without sounding as if he is using "blunt intruments" for words making it sound as if he doesn't have "good intents" when actually he does. i think also perhaps this woman doesn't want to know him because his words are met with "scepticism" which is tough on him because he wants to "kiss" her lips. he is now thinking back to this instant and remembering his heartbeat which leaves him with "regret" because he really wanted to get with the woman and they left a lot of people "upset" maybe because they wanted them to get to together, like when friends are like 'you two would be good together' and it never happens thats what i think anyway as well as the fact that the lyrics are excellent and love the rhyming! very clever. |
