Amy Winehouse – Stronger Than Me Lyrics 15 years ago
Honestly, I don't think she needs or wants him to be strong backbone of the family, she just wants him to be strong enough to be there when she needs it. In a relationship, both people should be able to lean on each other, not one person leaning, and the other constantly holding both of their weight.

I want a strong sensitive man. In other words, I want a man who can tell when I'm not doing so well, and need some comfort and lovin. If he does that for me, I'll do the same for him.

Pink – It's All Your Fault Lyrics 16 years ago
I'd edit, but it I can't find a way to. So I'll do this instead.

I just wanna expand on something I said a bit earlier,

"It's all your fault
You called me beautiful"

She's blaming him for making her fall in love with him, but really in a totally negative way either. But she's also saying that it's that one thing he said to her that made her fall in love with him, and if it hadn't been for that one moment, and those words he said, she wouldn't have fallen for him.

I think also one thing I wanna add, is that I think that, as bad as everything else is, and as much as it hurts, she doesn't regret any of it, and maybe in a way she's kind of in love with it?

Pink – It's All Your Fault Lyrics 16 years ago
"I conjure up the thought of being gone
But I'd probably even do that wrong
I try to think about which way
Would I be able to and would I be afraid"

She's metaphorically talking about leaving and being without him, and literally about running away and escaping.

"It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not fair"

She's blaming him for making her fall in love with him, but really in a totally negative way either. Then in the next couple lines, she's talking about how much she's changed or something essential is different about herself that she can't just walk away. As for the holding her breath thing, I think it has more to do with a line of thought, "oh he's so beautiful and perfect, I don't want to even breath because I might disturb his perfection" or something like that, I don't think I quite expressed that perfectly. But after her initial intake of breath, she's now running out of air, because she still can't breath because he's still so perfect, and she doesn't think that she's good enough for that perfection that is him, and it's not fair for her to feel so inferior all of the time.

I would never pull the trigger
But I've cried wolf a thousand times
I wish you could
Feel as bad as I do
I have lost my mind

She's talking about leaving, and how she never could, but how she's said she would "a thousand times" before, and how he could have some kind of empathy, or feel how she does (miserable and inferior).

I don't think this has anything to do with suicide, or metaphors for suicide. But I do think it's about a girl (I'm just going to say girl because it's Pink singing, but I think this can be applied to either sex) who doesn't know how much longer she could take being with this person, because she thinks they're so perfect, and she honestly doesn't think she can compare to that, and it's that hint of inferiority that makes her miserable. One thing this song could be about, is she's just trying to get their attention. It's not that they don't care, or that they're absent, it's just that they don't notice her all of the time. An example for what I'm trying to say would be, dating someone who's in the limelight all of the time, and while they're out busy doing their thing, you're sitting at home waiting for them to come back, and you feel forgotten while you're at home alone, so you do what you can to get their attention, ie crying wolf and threatening to leave. Plus with dating someone who's famous, while you're not, there's the "Wow, I'm dating (fill in celebrity), I really don't get how they like me type thing"

I think that's pretty much it.... I hope you were able to understand at least some of what I said!

...Oh and one more thing, just to be clear, the celebrity metaphor was just that, a metaphor, I don't think it really applies here, it was more of an example to get the feelings of it across.

Three Days Grace – Wake Up Lyrics 16 years ago
I totally love this song, this whole album pretty much rocks to me, and to me, is way better than One X was. This was the song that made me fall in love with 3DG, especially the first two lines in the second stanza.

To me, this song is about a guy who used and used a girl for his own means (in other words, she's a warm body with a hole to be blunt), and didn't give a f*** about her. He'll take her when he wants her, and then cast her off when he doesn't, without a second thought. Then one day, he woke up, and she wasn't there when he wanted her, and he realizes he needs her in some twisted way. But, she had had enough of his BS, and had left him. He tries to beg and plead her to come back, telling her she's changed but she's had enough of it, and won't take him back. It's tragic really, if you think about it.

Paramore – Decode Lyrics 17 years ago
I just wanna put something out there, and see how well it works, because maybe the song can be understood a bit more if this is done. Anyways, my idea was that, how about we take the song out of the context of Twilight, and just try to understand it if it was about a normal boy and girl. No vampires, no werewolves, no Bella or Edward. Just normal people, because listening to this song, there's a couple verses and parts that in the context of Twilight, make no sense to me, like:

How did we get here?
I use to know you so well
How did we get here?
Well, I think I know

and

Do you see what we've done?
We're gonna make such fools of ourselves
Do you see what we've done?
We're gonna make such fools of ourselves
