personally, i always read it as someone wanting to tell a really close friend that they're in love with them, and being terrified that it will destroy their friendship and make the other person doubt not only themselves, but their previous relationship as friends. and the way that he's just constantly reassuring the other that even if they don't make it through this, to still be strong. also, this might just be me, but i tend to read it as him telling his straight best friend how he feels, knowing it'll make him wonder if they were ever really friends and that it'll probably kill their friendship... just makes it all the more angsty >.<; |
