Yes, this is about a book called Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier.
In the book theres a girl who is an assistant to a very posh lady (her missus). The posh lady is very high class and always talks about other rich, high class people. One day in a hotel they meet a man called Max, who the girl soon marries. Max takes her back to his grand house in Manderley, but all Max's servants who live in the house constantly remind Max's new wife that she will never be the same as his old wife (Rebecca). Hence the line "You're wife was so much more than me, but I can be her now" |
