| Funnily enough, I was thinking about how he talks about suicide but it doesn't sound all 'emo' and self indulgent when I was listening to this earlier. | |

| La Rocca – Some You Give Away Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I'm quite surprised this song hasn't had more comments. I think this song is fairly self-explanitory. The first verse 'my one mistake' is him blaming himself for the end of a relationship, saying 'maybe if i'd done this it would've been different.' 'I lost some friends out on that empty road' reminds me of a time when I'd be messed about constantly by this girl but I kept going back and in the end I lost a lot of friends because of it. And 'some you lose and some you give away' to me is him saying that there was more he could've done to keep her but he didn't so he feels he gave her away. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Meet Me on the Equinox Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The first few times I heard this song I didn't really like it. I much prefer Death Cab's earlier stuff but I've been listening to it more and more and it's really growing on me. 'The sun is perched at its highest peak in the middle of the day' - I can't figure out whether this was just a rushed lyric that was just put in to rhyme with the previous one or whether the matter of fact-ness about it reflects the matter of fact-ness about the situation that he later goes on to describe. 'Meet me on your best behavior Meet me at your worst For there will be no stone unturned Or bubble left to burst' I think this part is saying that it's over and that nothing can change that, that every stone has been unturned and every bubble burst so there's nothing left. It's like something he's saying to a girl and it's what I meant by the matter of fact nature of it. But then he goes on to say - 'Let me lay beside you darling Let me be your man And let our bodies intertwine But always understand' Which I think is his thoughts. Like he's trying to end things but he really doesn't want to so this part is saying how he really feels. And the repetition of 'everything ends' is him trying to convince himself that it's the right things to do. But that's just my interpretation of it, with no New Moon influence, just stuff going on with me, that's what I get from it. |

'I'm sorry but I can't see past what other people are thinking' - that line tears me up. Just the feeling of loving someone so much but everyones telling you not to and you don't know what to do. Great song. |

| Brightwood – In Memory Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song means an awful lot to me. It reminds me of the person who got me into Brightwood and I feel this song perfectly explains the way I felt at the end of the relationship. 'It seems like these moments are lasting forever.' - that line explains how everything reminded me of this person and everything we ever did played on repeat in my head. 'Slipped past, and I didn't notice. Did we ever sing the same song?' - the first part is pretty self explanitory in the way that I couldn't tell they were falling out of love and by the time I realised they'd gone too far for me to get them back, and the second part is how when I look back I wonder if we ever wanted the same thing out of the relationship. 'Remember the times when we started believing, Everything would be alright?' - reminds me of a particular night when they reassured me it'd be fine when I had my doubts and in the end those doubts were the ending. And I'll wait for you. I'll become something new - that part is again self explanitory, to me it means that despite whats gone on at the end of the day I would take them back and I'd change for them. |

| The Honorary Title – Stay Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song means a lot to me. Especially the lines 'if you're using me do it slowly' and 'stay away from me now Less you gonna see, less you gonna see me out' I think its about being with someone who you sort of know isn't good for you but still you want to be with them. And you're giving them an ultimatum; either be with me properly or don't be with me at all. |

| Jimmy Eat World – If You Don't, Don't Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song reminds me of an on/off boyfriend I had for a couple of years. I can't put into words how I think the story goes so I'll do it like this. Two people. We'll call them Adam and Leah. They were friends to start with but not close friends, Adam began to fall for Leah and said to her 'If you like me then good, if not then we can still be friends'. Leah chose the friends and Adams feelings went back to being purely friendly. Then they were better friends than before and Leah began to fall for Adam. Adam knew he could fall for Leah again so decided to give it a go but as the relationship went on he knew they would only be friends. This falling in and out of love then goes on - 'A sip of wine (love) and sip of water (friendship)' - but everytime they get together Adam doesn't really love her but he doesn't want to hurt her either so goes along with it. I hope that made sense. It probably didn't. Most things I say don't make sense. = ] |

| Strays Don't Sleep – For Blue Skies Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song is about suicide, about how maybe a loved one talked to him about their suicidal thoughts and how he just ignored them and now he was angry that he/she committed suicide and that hes sorry for it and that he forgives him/her even if he/she didn't forgive themselves for something and that something drove them to suicide. Jus a thought like. | |
