One of their best. According to Wikipedia, a lot of people thought this song was about abortion. Perhaps this was a very literal interpretation of the lyrics 'Cut that little child, inside of me and such a part of you' and 'What I choose is my choice' but Disarm has nothing to do with abortion and is about his traumatic relationship with his parents.
Corgan is anything but literal in his writing style. Lots of reference to:
Catholicism (F**k You An Ode to No One) I took a Virgin Mary axe to the sweet baby jane)His Irish roots (XYU - I am made of Shamrocks)
Self Harm (Today - Pink ribbon scars that never forget)

What I really love about PJ is the raw emotion that comes out in their songs. I can instantly name a track that describes my current state of mind. Lukin is a perfect example. It is a shot of pure adrenaline to the heart when heard played live! This song is one of few that make me cry uncontrollably. It takes an incredible talent to do this, espicially to me. My interpretation: This song is not about the obvious connotations of the quest for fame, rather the obsessiveness associated with the subject. However, Gaga is singing directly from her soul to her fans. She seeks their love and admiration.
She's YOUR biggest fan and she'll follow YOU till YOU love HER.
It's a haunting lyric, sung so sweetly. Gaga's songs are catchy and get stuck in your head or 'follow' you wherever you go. I feel she's singing it to me personally.
Anything you read about Gaga being an MKUltra Project Monarch test subject under Illuminati mind-control is just an urban myth. When u read into it, it becomes absolutely ridiculous. Why leave blatantly obvious symbols everywhere unless she was diliberately trying to expose it for how absurd it all really is. Love the Gaga. She will love you back. |

I agree with the NASA theme. Perhaps a reference to Challenger disaster?
'You got me walking into suicide' is probably how each of the astronauts felt as they were about to blast off, as deep down they knew the mission was doomed. Research the documentaries.
I fuckin love this song because like many of Bungle tunes, it warps and mutates into different genres.
What is especially haunting is the last verse, after all that demonic heavy shit dissolves (Patton very well could be the devil incarnate as he screams HERE TO PARADISE THEY GO BRIGHTER MADE IS THEIR WOE AS ABOVE SO BELOW!) and then the trippy melody kicks in:
'I'll be right there by your side to beam my message into space as I die.'
What happened back in 1986 to those poor people is a testament to NASA's relentless and futile efforts to send people into space. I mean, what's the fucking point? At the time everyone bought into the dream and that Challenger mission was pushed until the enevitable happened. They wanted everyone to get on the Merry Go-Round, hence the song's title. |

OMG! From the operning riff to the last bar this song scoops u up and elevates u to a place not on this earth. STP #4 is an album partially recorded while Scott was in prison and it's a miracle it even exists. Yeah, it's no Purple but has some of their best ever tracks. True they are mostly about skag addiction but the sheer intensity of them almost makes u feel like u are on drugs. Pruno, Sour Girl, Atlanta and especially Glide just take me away some place else and it's close to where Scott was at the time. I also believe he is a good man and I hope one day STP will refom and headline a rock festival. |

it's strange all of you guys hear different lyrics in this song. I always thought it was 'and i'll stay in bed, oh i could not see you, if just once i could feel loved, oh i'll stay back and mean it' which leads me to conclude this person he's obsessing over is aware of him, and if she would only give him a chance, he'd stop bothering her and promise himself not to dream anymore - 'staying back' in reality. How the fuck did Eddie Vedder know to put into words the same exact feeling of everyone who's ever been in love? The parallels of this song and my life are too scary, especially the bit about dreaming about somebody and praying they can see the beauty within, rather than the ugliness on the outside. |
