I think that this song is about those who care about eachother sticking together. In the mist of a family falling apart ("come save the family tree"), this is an offer of help from a friend. The friend knows that he or she can't keep a family from breaking apart, but offers to be a shoulder to cry upon. This song is EXACTLY what I need right now. My family is falling apart and I just need someone who will let me cry and let me get it all out, rather than making me hold it all in at risk or burdening others with my personal problems. This is a really powerful song. I love the idea of salvaging a "block of wood" as a "souvenir of the family tree". |
