| Weatherbox – Trippin' The Life Fantastic Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
no, it was "i was born in a swamp". listen harder, it's right. this whole CD is very native-american themed, basically i agree with what MitchDouglas said. he is telling of being one with the earth, living a neverending circle of life. |

| Weatherbox – The Clearing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i saw them last night, and they perform this so ace. as for the meaning, i think it's as if he knew he had to get home, "at any cost" and in doing so he's trying so hard to perservere, but he gives up and is taken into heaven by an angel? but that's just me. | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – Stable Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
the meaning is simple to me, it's a song about a town that has been deserted, save for a single family; as they pack up to leave the place, they realize that this town was home. so, no matter where they will move to, they will always be reminded of this one place that will always be a "home" to them. even though the place they left was nowhere to them, it will always be somewhere else to somebody else. |

| Wolf Parade – You Are A Runner And I Am My Father's Son Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i always thought it was as if his life, his father's life, and his son's life were repetitious. no matter what a man does, he will always start off "as a hero" as a child and young adult, but won't make it through "the high noon sun" of true adulthood and will become like his father. he builds a "house inside" of "you", who i think represents his own son. so it is father - him - son. and their cycle |

| Mew – Why Are You Looking Grave? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| it's like a song about first impressions | |
| Mew – Mica Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"Let me do the talking, now that I’m here. You’ll steal all the attention anyway. ‘cause something about you compels me to feel that a glued together vase is still a vase." i think it means that, even though Mica might've been through some tough shit; everyone goes through the same things. one vase, even if it is just put together, is no different from any of the others. everyone is just as beautiful, mica just needs to open her eyes. |

| From Autumn to Ashes – No Trivia Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i've always had this vision of like a one-night love, that this man could never forget this girl, and then one day he gets a card that invites him to her wedding. he was just a man she slept with, and nothing more to her. she asks him if he believes in fate because their meeting could have been more, but since he does not believe in fate, there is no point in staying with him. he wasn't the man she was searching for. and on the plane, while he flies over the Pacific Ocean, he regrets and realizes that maybe she could've been the one he was searching for all along. but he'll never know. perhaps this was his fate anyway. |

| Mew – She Came Home For Christmas Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's probably about sexual abuse from a brother/father who left her for a while and then came back when she thought she could erase all the memories. | |
| Mew – Then I Run Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I view this as a sort of Holocaust-esque song. How all those people are fleeing something, and then they'll die. It's so beautifully sad, so terribly dramatic, and so delightfuly sleepy. The way he sings it makes it feel like he's a person that's been shot by a stry bullet and then he's just laying there, watching everything occur, and remembering how it was and how it is. And even in death, he will still run. |

| Mew – The Seething Rain Weeps For You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The first time I heard the song, I cried. It is, honestly, too beautiful for words. I think that anyone who has had someone they've been close to die know this song, they are this song, they live this song. |

| Mew – The Zookeeper's Boy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
To me, and Mew is possibly my favorite band ever, this song possesses a childlike fascination with the city. I see it more like a story than anything else. Like of a boy who feels as if he's had enough of the country life and aching for the city. but then he realizes that the city is more of a "people zoo" than anything. "Giraffes" being skyscrapers and "ostriches" and the holes they hide in being the sewers of the city. Anywhere and everywhere people can go. "Submersible" once again prooves the sewer aspects for he can "hardly breathe". I think the boy's fascinated with the rain falling down because where he comes from when everyone sees the rain, they all run home to be with their families, but here the cars remain and no one is going home to the ones they love. Or maybe i'm overthinking it and I should focus on my English paper. :| |
