| seems to me this song is about the cycle of self improvement we all face on a daily basis. the title 15 step refers to any sort of self improvement in the marketing world... "15 easy steps to have whiter teeth or 15 steps to loving yourself" 15 steps is a bit of an exaggeration but it seems there are constantly things about us we strive to improve and the journey there never seems to stop. the first couple of lines talk about the loss of sight that seems to always happen during the process and the desire to try to get back on track again - restarting the cycle to self improve all over again. later on the lyrics go into the feeling of loosing your own identity in the process of becoming someone else. no longer are you the person you were but then again you're still not the person you desire to be. thats my take. self-improvement is masturbation. | |
