I really like this song, and to me it reminds me of when I was a kid listening to ABBA while riding in the car with my parents. I always wondered what a Super Trouper was and wikipedia has the answer. The 'Super Trouper' is the name of a range of followspots which are the type of light which appear brightest and keep the performer lit. It is widely known that ABBA were not always fond of performing onstage, preferring the studio to being on the road and constantly on tour. This is reflected in the lyrics, which, in typical ABBA style are presented as upbeat, yet tinged with an underlying hint of sadness. |
