Yeah, Arctics = Ramps :) It was a "pseudonym" they used for the 7 inch release of the b-sides... I don't have it, I know my stuff but am not the kind of fan who won't just stick to CDs lol! |

| Cool, it's a shame it's been ages since anyone commented on this song/band...has anyone heard the album? Their new songs on Myspace don't quite compare IMO, hopefully album 2 will turn out to be as awesome as the first! | |

The lyrics are printed on the teddy picker CD single: He sank into their calculations And snorted on the stench Of Their arithmetic Looked for the boy who was hanging his head low More trophies than ideas. To follow their pretence With a scowl in his pocket and a smile on his face He followed with obedience And fell in the nettles Afterwards those spikey whispers said he bought his own rope And skipped the bits they loathed Didin't scramble to find a dock leaf to capture back our hope To advice his mind had closed He lost all of his footholes. And with a smile in his pocket and a scowl on his face He followed with obedience And fell in the nettles, fell in the nettles, fell in the nettles. He was a toothpick! And the garlic and the cinder upon the path Had failed to blunt or hinder the slow collapse Clinging to the door frame he was dragged Off to a reminder of where he had been With a smile in his pocket And a scowl on his face He had nowhere to flee So sat content in the nettles |

I love this song! Can I just suggest some minor corrections - the chorus actually says "don't panic, panic MUTYA, just look ahead now" and "THAT'S who has replaced me..." and "I was feeling ON TOP OF the world and I just got a hunch" |

| Arctic Monkeys – What If You Were Right the First Time? Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I love this song, shoulda been on the album with Temptation... The meaning is basically about Alex having uncertainty about a girl, not knowing where she is or what she's up to, and thinking she's off having a better time without him...the first line is "betwixt and between", also the third line of the bridge is "is there owt (anything) to prove" and i heard the last line as "what is the worst that could happen" I love the way the last three lines are sung. Man I love this band. |

| Pendulum – Blood Sugar Lyrics | 18 years ago |

It's a man who at first introduces us to the SONIC recreation of the end of the world, on the understanding we have come to bare witness to the sound of drum and bass. We find out, however, the man in question was joshing us all a long and what we are listening to IS IN FACT drum and bass. The man has no regret about the trick he played on us, tauntingly questioning what our response will be. He punctuates his uncaring stance with an obscenity. |

| Arctic Monkeys – Brianstorm Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Mmmm...absolutely loving this song. I can't believe noone has posted these lyrics yet! The meaning's quite obvious on this one really, it's about a guy called Brian who's great at pulling women. I bloody love the title. Roll on April 26!!! |

| Hadouken! – That Boy That Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
yeah. Anyway, this song is awesome and sums the band's attitude basically. They're about getting loose, getting mental and not caring about an image. There's an awesome line in "Dance Lessons" - "Get down to the rhythm of the 80's cheese" Can I suggest the last of the chorus is "on your back yeah, time to blow the speaker" and also there's "follow, wallow, swallow" after "Is it the same as their public school?" |

| Some would brand this as repetitive. Not me. I love it :) | |

I can't believe noone has commented on this band. The lyrics are amazing, the music moving, the voices beautiful. I bloody love this band!! This opening track on the album sums them up, uplifting, powerful guitar pop laced with a real sense of style and originality. Sorry to bang on, but I'm afraid I can't really say too much about the song's meaning, seems to have lots of negative connotations but the sound suggests otherwise - it's a gorgeous, roaring number. Seriously people (if anyone EVER reads this lol) track this band down! |

| Razorlight – Pop Song 2006 Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I love the name of this song and the song in general. I think the name's just to describe the type of song this is, the riffs are so infectious... But I think the song is about trying to convince someone to change their lives, offering whatever they need to make a change. I think the singer (Johnny) is pining for someone, basically, but he might already be with them. I think "concealing a weapon" could be the subject's true feelings for the singer, ie negative ones. Also, I heard things a bit different - " with the light turning low" rather than "turn it low" "Somehow easy, but it's just hard to touch" for "Some have it easy, but this is hard to touch" "Concerning the truth now" for "You're sunning the truth now" (would fit in with what I thought "concealing a weapon" meant I guess) and "I believeD in you" too ;) Love the last lines! Love the song! |
