As far as I know, Tegan's still a lesbian. By disowning them, I think she's saying that she can't really relate to the whole "feeling like you're ready to come out to the world" thing, which is what I think this song is about. That and as I see it, being let down by someone you wholeheartedly trusted yourself with. Hell yeah to female empowerment, anyone? |

This song makes me think about how my sister is going away from home after having been by my side my whole life and how I'd like to tell her so many things, but she's always on the move or not willing to listen to what I have to say. We used to share everything and would help each other out, and now she's so caught up in the moment, ignoring everything that once reigned important and going on about gossip-y stuff. Yes, another story as my interpretation. I suppose this is why I feel I can relate to T&S. |

Some of you are taking "I feel you in my heart and I don't even know you" too literally. To me, this song reminds me of this girl I fell completely head over heels for almost instantly. It's like, I met her and talked to her and everything seemed right, as if she was my other half. I hardly knew her but I already felt that she truly was a part of me. And I had known always that I would meet someone like her, but I didn't know when. Put that with the lyrics and you should be able to figure out what I meant. The part that really gets me is "Flew home, back to where we met Stayed inside I was so upset Cooked up a plan so good except I was all alone, you were all I had Love you, you were all mine Love me, I was yours right?" Reminds me when she called me to break up with me, and then I went to my room to think of what I could do to get her back. The only problem was that I couldn't think up any words other than "I love you so much, I thought you loved me too." Again, put that with the lyrics and you should catch my drift. |

This has got to be my 3rd favorite track on The Con, just behind Dark Come Soon and Nineteen. Each track moves me to the point of crying. This song terribly reminds me of when I was in this long distance relationship and I hoped to all the stars in the sky that she realized everything I said to her was true. But on her side, it was just going nowhere, which made me feel stupid for trying so hard to make it work. |

To me, this song has a personal meaning which could probably apply to others as well. I met this most wonderful girl, and she caught my heart from the start. We each saw such good in each other and realized that maybe something was meant to be. But one day, she shows up claiming that she's found someone else and she's fallen for them. This had me so ticked off, that I was stuck in a rut for the longest time. Just recently, she came back into my life out of nowhere, claiming that she was trying to get me jealous to found out my true intentions by going off with someone else. Now she knows what she's not to do. And right now, I don't know how to feel about her. It's a unique feeling, and I'm sure no one feels this way about her. I've wanted to say so many things to her, like "how could she" but I still can't figure out how to do it. But I also just want to melt in her arms because she's come back into my life at a point where I've lost my way and I don't now where I'm going. She may as well be the one to help me. It's going to be a tough time trying to figure out what to do next. I don't know if this way all ramble, but this is just how I take it. It's like a love/hate thing, looking at someone who's done you wrong, yet maybe they're the one for you. |
