Maybe a part of us always wants to be optimistic - like the hopeful, melodic, upbeat tempo of this song. But another part of us can't help but feel discouraged. I love the contrast between the music and lyrics - like the contrast we feel between wanting to be optimistic but being a pessimist. This verse describes it perfectly: It disappeared at the same speed as the idealistic things I believed. The optimist died inside of me. |

| This is such a sweet and beautiful song. I think this song is more than just about the affection one has for their pet bird but a song about someone who understands how love, lovalty and freedom work in romantic relationships. | |

i LOVE this song.. but I'm sorry to say that the ending is unpleasant to my ears no matter how brilliant the concept seems. I think this song might be about the guilt of having a one-night stand. |

| This song makes me think of an emotionally troubled person who seeks pain in relationships: "Sin dolor no te haces feliz"/ "Without pain you're not happy". They somehow provoke their loved one to treat them in an emotionally abusive way: "Toda esa noche provocaste ver en mi lo que a nadie muestro en la intimidad" / "That whole night you provoked me to see what I never show in intimacy". Maybe they brought out the rage in their loved one.. something they must not be proud of which makes them want to hide that fact "Me obligo a matarte, lentamente" / "It obligated me to kill you, slowly". It seems like a very dysfunctional form of love. | |

| i love this song! it reminds me of the psychic bonds and connections we have with friends, family members and/or lovers. to me "emotional landscapes" is the inner complexity and beauty of a loved one's personality that inspires us so deeply to what i think is a "state of emergency". | |
