Modest Mouse – Missed the Boat Lyrics 15 years ago
The chorus in this song sounds alot like David Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes" when he sings, "I'm happy, hope you're happy too." Anyone else agree?

Neon Indian – Terminally Chill Lyrics 16 years ago
I had to categorize this band... but this song sounds like a mix of MGMT and Grizzley Bear. If that even does this band credit.

Cunninlynguists – 616 Rewind (Feat. Mr. SOS & Anetra) Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm pretty sure the first question mark should be "...gone in sixty seconds like nicholas cage is."

TV on the Radio – Young Liars Lyrics 16 years ago
I have a strong feeling the last verse is about science vs. religion

TV on the Radio – Shout Me Out Lyrics 17 years ago
This song reminds me of dealing with a drug addiction. Examples of drug references are found in the following stanzas:

1. Warm passenger's high, If I could feel it for another day, It might run me dry

2. Worn masochist's sigh, A distant figure in a photograph, Another eye

3. It's burning your eyes and it's, Killing your mind, And it's broken your atmosphere

Anyone have any insight into this?

Kings of Leon – Woo Hoo Lyrics 17 years ago
I totally agree with 2hands last post. I bought this song off itunes, and it was immediately a favorite... then i'd find myself listening to it over and over again. Simply amazing, like always.

When I hear about this song, I think about someone fresh out of a relationship, simply going crazy and partying to make things a little easier. Therefore, I think "woo hoo" refers to being drunk... which I'm sure other people are thinking.

Whatever the matter, great song...

The Beautiful Girls – I thought about you Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree, much pop-ier sounding than the previous recordings. But the record is amazing. I really like Ziggurats, but like you guys already said... it's a step in a different direction.

My Morning Jacket – Dancefloors Lyrics 18 years ago
I love when my morning jacket plays in this style. The band is so stylistically versatile, and Z is a great mixed bag of treats. This song represents an almost classic country style... but the album goes from raggae to electronic to blues and on and on... just great stuff.

Band of Horses – Cigarettes, Wedding Bands Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is one of the most underrated BOH songs. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's my favorite. Also, I disagree with the lyrics in respect to the current line "failure, he said, times two breeds contempt." In this case, I believe TooFresh's line is correct when he says "firmiliar, he said, times two breeds contempt." This makes alot more sense, and possibly is a reference to a quote contributed to Aesop: "Firmiliarity breeds contempt." In essence, this means that the more you get to know something the more it bothers you.

Aqueduct – Just The Way I Are Lyrics 18 years ago
This song just gets in your head and stays there. It's simply addicting. I think the words have a pretty simplistic meaning; most likely being about a relationship, and the negative things that happen to them.

this song is often played as an opener at their live shows... great way to warm up the audience.

Led Zeppelin meets Jack White... the sound by no stretch of the imagination is unique-- but that doesn't mean it still isn't sweet to jam to.

Amazing song... I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. An undiscovered briallance of ELP.

Built to Spill – Carry the Zero Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is THE break up song. Every emotion is there, and doug sings it like no one else could. Anyone who's been through an unwanted break up knows exactly what the words mean, it goes without being said.

Renee Renee – Driving Lyrics 19 years ago
I can't believe this guy isn't mainstream yet. This song is undiscovered brilliance. This song alone is worth buying White Heat or even just the 99 cent song on ITunes...

The meaning of this song seems quite simple-- a guy in the midst of a messy break-up filled with lies and deception.

Saul Williams – Black Stacey Lyrics 19 years ago
Every rapper needs to listen to this song.... to much music out there that truly has no point. Williams breaks that mold with everything he does.

Renee Renee – Paper Doll (featuring Mark Hoppus) Lyrics 19 years ago
Renee Renee is not given enough credit in this song. His vocalls appropriately contrast Hoppus', which makes the song. Renee Renee's album is also full of songs that are as good, or even better than this. "Driving" and "Be With You" for example. Some of ReRe's stuff is off the wall, but that's what makes him such a unique artist. Do you really think Hoppus would record with a guy who had no talent? Doubtful....
