I think it is about how one can look back on the past and remember all the great times and how much you've changed into the person you are now. This doesnt mean that tom is "realizing that AM! is over" but that they are turning into something that he never knew would come "I am, taking all I know about nihilism, and trying to build it into a life." |

gravejr. that was a long and interesting interpretation of the song and irish heritage, but the song is really about tom's grandparents (Evelyn and James) and his grandfather was an alcoholic but Evelyn loved him more than anything. If you read earlier posts it explains it very clearly.
and another thing. the whole AM selling out business. they might have signed to sire, and phat even before that, but just because a band makes a move in the "music business" doesnt mean they are selling out. AM, I beleive will always keep their same anarchitic, basement, beliefs and keep true to their music and who they are. Thats what tom and the whole band started for and their music is all about. So for everyone bashing on the bands move and how they are "selling-out" then you should re-consider what that term really means before you slap an amazing band in the face like that. |
