Yes, it's the Lord's Prayer in the beginning and the song seems more to indicative a disbelief in religion - Christianity, I guess, or some such monotheistic deity. |

Ha ha, I only find it ever so funny that even about something so little as this people fight about it.
Or maybe I'm just in a bad mood? *laughs*
Yeah. Whatever the real meaning is, it most easily interpreted to me as a girl. Cutting, obviously. Kind of a consensus. And it could either be a really great guy who cares about her...or God. I don't really care; I think it's cool that it can go both ways. It's my opinion though. Some may share it. Some don't. Why does there have to be dissension?
Don't mind my horrible mood. I'm going now. |

I'm not one for rap anything, and some of Eminem's stuff is kinda sketchy, but man, I cannot deny that he's very good at writing, at least in this song. You read it out loud if you don't know the song and you get some of the rhyming and the way the words fit together, but hearing him rap it and how he uses the sounds and cuts words in half to rhyme and everything...it's amazing. Wish I could write near half as well as he can, ha. |

Hm. Personally, the change in style of Minutes to Midnight were a bit of a pleasant change. For sure both style and contents changed...in fact, come to think of it, the contents of their album sort of remind me of SoaD. But that's just me. Not to say I didn't love their previous albums (LP), but this was nice. Slightly more depressing in sound than angry, IMO, but I guess that's personal.
As for meaning, there's not much to say that hasn't already been said. |

Our English teacher showed us this song today...it's a bit frightening. "But I'm left to bleed to death, now all the man I've ever been"... That says that whoever the narrator is, he has always been that way, too weak to try to go on...the way he acts now as he lies there dying shows just what kind of a person he has been his entire life. It's sad, really. Not just the song, but the person. |

Bazan is a Christian artist who actually DEALS with some of the real stuff that happens in the world where a lot (not all) of Christians tend to plaster a pretty face over it all and not want to talk about it. It's good that he is willing to do that. The audience has to know that he has hidden meanings in his song though, or they will draw conclusions about the kind of songs he writes and the fact that he's supposed to be a Christian. I applaud him for being real and telling life like it is. |

Let me apply this to our seniors graduating...(I'll miss them...) I find no significance to Venus aside from that representing the world out there of adults who will embrace the young adults leaving our high school...they are leaving together at grad but it is still farewell since they separate. It was our last day of school today. Final countdown. This is all out of order..."maybe they've seen us and welcome us all", adults welcoming our grads? Yeah, this was a crappy interpretation but it worked a little. Heh. Don't want our grads to leave. |

Love it, hate it, I don't give a damn. All I know is that there's enough noise in this to drown out the sound of my brother's screaming. This way, I can isolate myself from my parents and brothers and do.my.fucking.math. |

Trance version by Groove Coverage...don't know 'bout the hate bit, rocky182, but I like techno more than rock. Different tastes all around, though. And I wouldn't rave...and make a fool out of myself...hee. Sweet song, though. Could be S&M, or it could just be someone lusting after another. Nothing to say that hasn't been said. |

It's a pretty neat song, and it's from the guys' perspective, besides! It's really neat and totally relates back to that whole frog prince thing. Pretty cool.
Wow, I just used the words "cool", "neat", and "totally". I don't usually speak like that. :) |

I need to listen to this song more...it's great that Superchick writes songs that apply to EVERYONE, not just Christians. They may be an Xtian group, but the stuff they talk about is relevant to teens everywhere. |

This is such a great song. Superchick writes really good lyrics. Only problem is that I don't feel like I might be able to not date. But I really like the messages in Superchick's songs. They're awesome. |

It's a DDR song?! It's okay. Some of the lyrics taken out of context are pretty relevant at the moment. So cliche. Insanely cliche. Life seems to be full of that, eh? :) |

Okay, so I'm hooked on the song right now...lol...Kitade's voice is all right. But, I like Full Metal Alchemist, and I like this ending theme. I wish I could sing it. But I'm not Japanese and I don't know Japanese, so that might be a bit of a challenge... |

Then I heard Gansta's Paradise on the radio one day and I thought, wait, isn't this...then when I realized Amish Paradise was by Weird Al, it fell into place. *laugh* Don't you just love it when you're that slow to pick up on things? |

Well, this song was pretty cool, all in all. There's not much to read into it - my guess is 'Cure For The Itch' is just referring to when you're not really into it seriously...it's just something to fiddle with, play and fool around with, and hey, if it turns out okay, we'll stick it in there kind of thing. Oh geez, that grammar sucked but I am NOT going back and rereading it... |

Ow...people who dislike songs/bands etc. are entitled to their own opinion...only, I don't think overly lengthy explanations are needed. And no bashing on either side of either side. Personally, I like what I've heard of LP, so...each to their own, eh? |

| Evanescence – Eternal Lyrics

You are correct in that the beginning of 'Eternal' is the same as the ending of 'Away From Me'. If you listen to techno/electronica music (not that I'm by any means an expert) there are sometimes entire albums in which all the tracks are mixed to continually blend into each other. Gah, I can't remember the correct term...continual blend/mix or something like that. This is the effect being used to connect 'Away From Me' and 'Eternal'.
Also, I did love it...amazing visuals of a gloomy, dark rose garden at night with a girl in a white dress, in the rain... |

| Evanescence – Tourniquet Lyrics
|
No doubt what I'm about to say has been said countless times before already, but:
Whether or not there are Christian/religious meanings behind this (and I am a Christian), the God in this case seems to be the tourniquet that is keeping her from dying. What she wants is salvation; her soul wants salvation, but she wants to die, and what is her tourniquet is not permitting her the death. "Christ" is who is addressed at the end of this song, and she is asking if He will deny her her suicide...anyhow, that's how I see it. |
