this is beautiful and raw and i love it. its clearly about religion, christianity to be specific. i think the singer is basically struggling with his beliefs. he likely believes in jesus but still has doubts. it seems like hes asking jesus for help with the doubt and his life and all of his sins. Jesus Christ, I’m alone again So what did you do those three days you were dead? Because this problem is gonna last More than the weekend he also is worried about what will happen to him when he dies. he knows hes committed sins and isnt sure how he will pay for them. And at the gates does Thomas ask to see my hands? besides that it also seems like he's questioning if trying to live a sinless life is even worth it. Do you believe you're missing out? That everything good is happening somewhere else but the writer seems to realize that once all the fun of life is over, he still feels alone without faith. With nobody in your bed The night is hard to get through its very sad and desperate but completely beautiful. even though i'm not christian (anymore) i can definitely appreciate it. |

this song is incredible. it's filled with so much emotion. at first i had no idea what it was about but then i read that article and it's shocking. i agree that the first verse is from the mother's point of view and the second is from the killer's because he talks about his guilt and not being able to be forgiven. i'm not sure about the last verse though, about adjacent plots. maybe its from the singer's point of view, saying he hasn't had to face a tragedy like this, so he should be laughing and should be grateful. i don't know. Well I love you so much, but do me a favor baby and don’t reply. Cause I can dish it out, but I can't take it. ^ i don't really know what this part means or who it's supposed to be coming from. or why they say it seven times. does anyone know if brand new is christian? sometimes it seems like they are but sometimes it seems like they're just really anti-religious. |

I think it's about a girl that the singer loves and how they lived together and he thought things were fine at first, but she started getting depressed and distant. When she finally leaves him for Boston, he misses her and thinks about her a lot, but he's trying to move on. Nothing too intense, but the song is really mellow and sweet. Sort of reminds me of summer. I don't understand these parts though. When she's turning over Friday When I'm coming over sunday they just sound weird. |

this is my favorite song. i absolutely love it. I believe in the sand beneath my toes The beach gives a feeling An earthy feeling I believe in the faith that grows And the four right chords can make me cry When I'm with you I feel like I could die And that would be all right All right these are the greatest lyrics i have ever heard and they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. they also sort of remind me of two of my best friends because when the three of us hang out it's just carefree and awesome and the best days i could have. sometimes we go to the beach and one of them will play guitar and it's just pure simple contentment. with them i could die happy. |

the flicker fade is getting stronger like when the days start getting longer i love those lines. makes me want summer. now I'm holding on to can't let goes and silence brings no peace i can relate to that. you hold on to things that you think you can't live without, but really you're only hurting yourself by doing it. you're not achieving anything. excellent song. |
