well everyone seems to think this is about male prostitutes, but im kind of getting a different feel. im thinking they are siblings because " in matching blue raincoats" -and that would make sense two siblings run away from their past life and live on the streets, have to prostitute themselves for money. i always took it as a brother and sister because the makeup reference Your parents were anxious Your cool was contagious At the old school You left without leaving A note for your grieving sweet mother While your brother was so cruel this really trancends siblings to me becasue the narrator talks about a brother(which was him) being cruel and leaving, and the sibling went with him. i dunno jsut my thaughts but i love this soooong. |

| there is a "Great Expectaions"( the movie more so than the book) theme running around, if you watch the music video. and some of the lyrics like the invitation part are like the ball in great expectaions. awesome book awesome song. | |

| well im not surre what the song exactly means but i know marlon Brando and Greta Garbo are famous actors. both whom are gay. marlon brando kept the ashes of his boyfriend or husband whilst in a relationship with a woman he thaught was indian (she lied) becasue he only loves "exotic woman" and Greta Garbo is a silent movie star from the 20s i believe and she never wanted anything to do with the public and was apparently self obsessed deprerssed adn in love with her theater school friend who became pregant and devasted her. so there is a history off whoose mentioned. dunno if it helps. | |

| okay well this is not one of my favorite songs but its not that terrible, (the worst is clearly up agaisnt) and i like the album its not as good as others but to all people who want to like burn it, i thinkits still pretty good. can someone please tell me what the hell the intro is. its driving me insane. and at the end what is that noise.please someone tell me! and the part about out the same way in, i am somehow reminding of vomiting, and some1 said its about alcohol i agree with that as well the flavors line or maybe drugs "pass the blues pass the blues" as 4 wat blue drugs thr r i have no idea. just my thaughts | |
