I've heard two credible explanations to this song:
1) It's about his deceased mother watching over him from heaven.
2) Being part Native American, Little Wing is Jimi's Indian guardian angel.
I like both and regardless of the meaning the song is awesome. |

i'm pretty sure this amazing song doesn't have to be about as drugs. i think it means living you're life as bold as love, the boldest thing of all (bolder than any drug, as jimi said himself). |

PRASCHUTE?...ok. this is an awesome song, reminds me of a little kid's song i learned in bible school, the wise man built his house on the rock, the folloish man built it on the sand.....same message- things without base or real good substance get washed away. |

this song is so overplayed and i think doesn't present hendrix at his best. many people wearing his t-shirts think this is his best song- mostly because this is the only song of his that they've heard. people should expand their horizons and check out may this be love, red house, electric ladyland, etc. |
