First comment, always the toughest one being as there is no one else's response to base my view against.
To me, this song is somebody who is telling us about life through their interpretation of it.
"You can build a life and have it broken down" < Don't get complacent in life, things CAN be taken away from you.
"You can choose a path and get turned around" < You may want to be something and be determined like hell to do it, but you may come across a dead end. (To me this line is saying about widening your options)
I could sit here and say what I think about each line but you should get the general jist of where I would go with it.

This song is about a nice guy(I will call guy A) who really likes a girl. She doesn't really care about him at all and doesn't answer his calls or letters. He asked her on a "date" or maybe just to hang out with him, she lied and said she was sick so she couldn't. Anyways he goes out (I presume with friends) and he see's her with him(Guy B). Guy B doesn't care that she's with him at all. She fellows Guy B around like Guy A follows her around. Guy A is now understand that girls don't want a nice guy. Guy B is mysterious, makes her cry etc. She can't have him and she KNOWS she can have Guy A anytime she wants, thats why she doesn't like him. The nice guy (at the end of the song) is clearly asking the girl, can't you see what a jerk I have become basically because of what she done.
Anyways yeah AWSOME song. |

Song is about a man who is cheating on his partner and is feeling guilty about it. He know's he shouldn't be cheating. He doesn't understand what he see's in this other woman and why she affects him like she does, hence the chorus. He knows his partner is "lonely" but he is still with this other woman. Pretty much all there is to say. Anyways AWSOME BAND AND AWSOME SONG. |
