I think this song is the perfect representation of going to bed with a person you've yet to know well, and while there discovering how beautiful and gentle they are and unexpected falling in love. who would have known...! |

In the interview with Spencer Krug, it sounds as if he's talking about Jainism, which isn't Buddhism at all, it's more of an offshoot of Hinduism... thanks for sharing the interview, it's very interesting. |

I've listened to this song countless times, and I'm still not entirely sure what it means. In my opinion, the lyrics in Brody's songs aren't literal; she uses words to create more of a mood then an actual story. This song feels very much like a breakup and revenge song; you can tell from the voilent words she uses that she's incredibly angry. "you say you want a revelation, revel in This my lover you're free at liberty is this what you want? " Revelation means the act of reavealing or disclosing: her lover wants the truth. Revel means to enjoy: she's telling him to enjoy the fact that she's leaving him. Liberty is freedom from control: again, he's free and single. "I sell souls at the side of the road Would you like to take a number " I think this is a clever way of saying he's souless. |
