This song is by far my favorite. It sounds like he's seeing this girl, who had so much potential in life, and giving it all away for a love that she is desperately searching for. She's never really had love, so she prays every night for it because she wants love the most. But it's changing her from being such a happy person to a depressed girl. That's just my insight on it but I love this song. |

honestly, i think this song can be about two friends. maybe one is in love with the other? i don't know but the line "And we both go down together We'd stay there forever" just seems like something friends would say to each other. like if one gets caught, both get caught, something like that. "And I'm sorry this wasn't easy when I asked you Believe me" maybe he was letting out his true feelings to her and she seemed shocked or something or started avoiding him without realizing how hard it was just for him to let it all out. "Well, I'm thinking of the worst things That I could say to you But a promise doesn't mean a thing anymore" maybe he's trying to find the right words to say to her, come on we all know that having a conversation with your crush isn't always the easiest. but the part about a promise, could be that he told her something, maybe his true feelings, and made her promise not to tell anyone and yet she did anyways. "And this never will be right with me And now you're trying to desperately But I'm tongue tied and terrified of what I'll say" i think in this part he's sorta regreting telling her his true feelings or he just feels he didn't put it in the right words and now she's trying to in her head. and now he's scared of what he's going to say to her next, something like that. "You never let go But I let go" this makes me think that like maybe once she started to hold onto him and fall in love with him, he let go of it all. i know that was all bad but hey, we all have different inturpretations. |
