| Avril Lavigne – Imagine (John Lennon cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This is such a beautiful John Lennon song, and of all the new artists out there, they had to choose Avril Lavigne. Did they actually want to make the song sound hideous? I have no problem with Avril Lavigne, obviously she is a somewhat talented young women because she has a huge fan base and hit songs, but this just isn't right in any way. She needs to stick to her bubblegum pop songs, that is most definitely her forte. |

| This Providence – My Beautiful Rescue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think when Dan wrote this he meant for it to be interpreted in both ways, religious and love. All the members of the band are Christians, though they aren't technically a Christian band. The song is saying you can be saved by the Lord or saved by love, it's meant to have a different meaning for everyone. In a non-Christian sense, I believe it is about someone who's life became boring. He was jumping of buildings "for the thrill of the fall", not caring if he broke every bone in his body merely because the excitement of it was the only beautiful thing he had left in life. When he meets his "beautiful rescue" he realizes how reckless he was, which shatters his pride and makes him understand that there is more to life. He really connects with this person and with every word they say and every word he keeps locked up the more in love he falls. He becomes so happy that he dances on the same buildings that he once jumped off of, he is experiencing the same joy and excitement that he did from jumping just from being in love. The other way to see it is from a Christian point of view. He is lost and feels he has no meaning in life. You could say he is jumping from the buildings in an attempt to feel or to kill himself. He is hurt and ashamed, and at his darkest hour he finds God. He finds meaning, happiness; something to live for. The actual lyrics say "I'm crying out 'Wash my hands, these bloody hands, Lord". He is freeing himself of the sin that consumed him before. In a way it would be a mixture of both love and faith. I've noticed that most of their songs have discrete Christian references, but over all have a different meaning. They are a really good band, great live performance. And they are all very nice as well. |

This song is absolutely beautiful. I think with this song you take from it what you want. You can listen to it and think it's depressing, or you can look at it as being peaceful. To me, it describes many of my views on death and society to a tee. I also think this can be a very political song, especially the line "Another century spent pointing guns At anything that moves." It's a very intellectual song as well, absolutely brilliant. What amazes me is that there are 92 comments and a great song like this that actually means something, yet 50 cents song "Candy Shop", which says nothing even close to smart are meaningfull, has over 400 comments on it. Society has hit an all time low. |

| The Scene Aesthetic – To The Steadfast Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Wow, I just noticed that no one has really commented on this song. o.0 For some reason when I listen to this song I invision a person who wants to kill themself, and they call a suicide hotline or a good friend who tells them to hold on, that they understand, and to slow down and take a break. But when I sit and read the lyrics, I think a little differently. I think the song it talking about someone who overworks themselves, overthinks things, and/or has gone through a lot in life, yet they don't tell anyone or seek any help, they try to figure it out themselves. And they have a friend who is trying to help, who is saying "slow down, I understand, I want to help you and I'll make the time to do so". I think the reason the song is so upbeat in cheery with the clapping is because of this, it's just supposed to cheer you up :] Beautiful song, thanks for posting the lyrics. I can't wait for their CD to come out this summer. |

| We Are the Fury – Hey Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Sounds to me like a girl who is uhm, maybe a prostitute? Or a slut, dancer, along those lines. I love the way it sounds though. We are the Fury is a great band, I demand more comments on their lovely songs! |

Awwh, no one has commented on this song, it's so catchy. I think it's about a girl who really thinks she is something. This guy likes her, but she just uses him and cheats on him, and he's sick of it. I think it also suggests that she is moving to fast for him, hence the line "find a friend at the other end who will blow your bubble gum". And the end makes me think that when he left her, she suddenly wanted him back, and he basically told her to go screw herself. Mhm. :] |

This, along with basically all of her other songs, is pointless and annoying. Screw sending her back to the UK, ship her off to Mars. *cough* But if you like her, good for you, that's just my personal opinion of her music. |

I always enjoy The Used's lovey dovey songs, they cheer me up so quickly, and they are very cute. And they are so obivous that it's about love and such. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to pick apart and figure out the song. Beautiful song. |

I do like the previous albums better, but it may be because I haven't listened to this one enough yet. It is pretty good though, they are lovely as always, their music is wonderful. The lyrics are okay on this album, but I like the music more on some of the songs. And not enough of Bert's great screaming! afitch1206, if you're going to copy and paste lyrics, at least listen to the song and put it in correct order, you are annoying a lot of people, I'm sure. |

"You might as well do the white line" That's definitely a reference to cocaine. It's pretty much all about heavy partying. Great great song. |

| Aiden – I Set my Friends on Fire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I personally like the song and the band. It's a great song to scream in the streets. I hate how everyone has to have huge arguments about Aiden though. If you don't like it, don't listen to it, don't bother telling people who like them how much they suck, because you're not going to change anyone's mind about them. But yeah, the song is basically telling everyone who has stabbed him in the back and screwed him over to go to Hell. |

If you're going to insult not only a band and their music but people who like them as well, at least learn to spell. Sure, everyone's got their own opinions, I'm all for standing up and saying how you feel about something. But there are people who aren't "whiney little emo kids" who like this song, the band, and their other songs as well. |

| Oh, Juliet! – All the Churches in New Orleans Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Oh I know, I love them, I was upset that no one had put any of their lyrics up. =D They are coming out with an EP that is gonna have five tracks on it, including this song, in the summer I think. I read an article about them online. This song along with the others that will be on the EP are about ghosts and such. “It’s a Cajun-French story about this ghost or apparition. The little creature can shape-shift and preys on young men. The lyrics to that song are about this little shape-shifting creature that turns into a female and preys on the lust of young men and distracts them from their goals. I could paint this perfect picture in my head from the story.” -That's what the article said. I can't wait for it to come out! |

This is a good song, good band, sad that no one has commented it. Well, I think it means that he fell for this girl, who is kind of a whore and she is very self-centered etc. And she screwed him over by having him do something for her, and when she calls him out on it, he basically says "No, I did this for myself, fuck off lady". I don't know, that's what I get out of it. |

| Shiny Toy Guns – Rainy Monday Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Here are the correct lyrics from their website. V1 I don't mind You’re someone who ain't mine But someone that I'll get And you don't know how Hard I've tried To convince myself that I Can easily forget B-section But you left this feeling Here inside me One that never fails to find me... Chorus On a rainy Monday ...a feeling inside me Like the days of summer On a rainy Monday ..I feel it inside me In the hopes of one day V2 I won't lie I still can't say that I Admit we went too far And you won't see me change my mind But I really wish that I Could forget the way you are B-section 2 But you left this feeling here inside me The battle in my mind still fights me Bridge I can see that you're not beside me But I still feel you shine inside of me I love this song, it's incredibly sweet yet sad. |

| Cute Is What We Aim For – The Curse of Curves Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I just saw the music video for it. And from that it seems like lja006 has it down pretty well. He either likes her for her personality, or just because they are a "dead fit" in other peoples eyes. He wants another woman and she is jealous ("jealousy's the cousin, the cousin of greed"). Very kinky song by the way. Shaant is absolutely adorable. |

| Aiden – Die Romantic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
In my opinion, Aiden is one of the greatest bands you'll find these days. I've seen them live, and they give a powerful, high-energy performance. Wil is communicates well with the audience on stage, and encourages the moshing and crowd-surfing that many go to shows for. They are excellent musicians, Jake Davison is a really good drummer, I love him. The guitar riffs are awesome. The lyrics are really cool and catchy, and have lots of hidden meaning. Plus, the are the nicest group of guys you'll ever meet. When I met Wil he was so nice and thankful, such a gentlemen. Anyways. I love them. This song was great live. Lovely song. |

| The Scene Aesthetic – Beauty In The Breakdown Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is an absolutely amazing song. It makes me all teary eyed. The song is a story. Basically, it's about a boy and a girl who fall in love. It's really sweet, I love it. I'll break it down. :] Because I'm detailed like that. "Come on, take a step towards me So you can figure me out I've been hoping and praying for a single way To show you what I'm all about" -The boy wants the girl to notice him, to take a step towards him. He wants to let her know everything about him, to spill his soul to her. But he's a little shy, so he is hoping for some way to let him break the ice. "And I know, and I know this is the only way of pleasing the crowds" -To me, it seems like his friends or her friends really wants them to get together. "But when this is over and done with and we walk away There should be no doubts" -Well, to me this says that one of them is telling the other that they are young and that they understand it will end someday, so there shouldn't be any regrets. "So let's get a little closer now Let's get a little closer now" -This sounds awefully kinky to me. :D But I think what it really means is that now they are falling hard for each other. "You say, you say that we're all tied up And wrapped around in useless, useless states of mind" -The girl knows that she is in love, and she thinks things are getting too serious. Maybe she's afraid to fall in love with him. "But at the same time we're still young We have the time to realize that we were wrong" -If something happens that they regret, they still have an entire lifetime to realize that their actions were wrong. "Come on love run with me Get the hell out of this town So we can get a better feel for each other I'll take you, back to, when you Remembered how you used to Just live your life a little for me" -Years later, after the relationship has ended, they meet again. The boy remembers all the feelings he once had for her, and he wants her back. He wants her to remember all the good times they shared and to take a chance and consider getting back together. "Take the time to let it go Step away and watch me grow" -He wants her to take a look at how he has grown and see that he is a mature adult and that they can handle a serious relationship now. "So let's get a little closer now Let's get a little closer now" -Means the same thing as before, they're back together, even if it's only for a little while. "You say, you say that we're all tied up And wrapped around in useless, useless states of mind" -She is saying what she said before, that they are in over their heads. "But at the same time we're still young We have the time to realize that we were wrong" -He wants her to consider it, he wants her to love him again. He is saying that they still have time to move on if it's just a fling. "You can stay if you want to And I write to you and tell you how you've always been so special to me You can stay if you want to, and I'll try You can stay if you want to And I write to you and tell you how you've always been so special to me You can stay if you want to, and I'll try" -He is telling her that she can stay if she wants feels the same way, and that if they are ever apart he will write to her and keep in contact no matter what. He wants her to know that she has always been so important to him, and that he loves her and always will. "To keep you close to me" -The boy is trying to prove to her he loves her. He wants her with him always. "You say, you say that we're all tied up And wrapped around in useless, useless states of mind But at the same time we're still young We have the time to realize that we were wrong" -The same game of her having doubts and him trying to reassure her. I like to think that in the end, they are together. It's so lovely. |
