| Of course, it could also be "qui nous fait"...but I'm certain that it's not "camarade". | |

| I may be mistaken, but I believe that instead of "C'est le Bon Dieu camarade", it should be "C'est le Bon Dieu qu'on fait", because then he says the contrary, "C'est le Bon Dieu qui nous brise". | |

| The most logical word for that phrase, zombie_scene and HearMeWhisper is 'berth'. Look it up, I'm too lazy. =] | |
| HIM – (Don't Fear) The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I'm gonna take a totally random stab at this song, if I'm completely off, don't be afraid to correct me. I totally agree with Valentine99 about Ville's voice. He's got a deep mysteriousness that cannot be found through playing the song fast, as BOC does. However, I think that the songs are pretty different from each other, and personal preference has to do with deciding which is the better. If you like slow and haunting, go for Him, if fast and almost upbeat tickles your fancy, BOC is the way to go. I personally like Him's version, but the woman has a very almost nasally voice (if you want an example, 5:45) and it really doesn't sound good. As for meaning, it is apparent it's Romeo-and-Juliet-esque suicide (plus stated by BOC). I also want to point out a touch of fear added to the song. Hence the repeating of lines like 'Come with me, take my hand.' and 'Don't be afraid.' |
