UH-OH! u missed a verse: after, "the girl had given up the love of her life", the lyrics say: "And all the time that she was giving up slowly He didn't notice when she ran away and when it came to finally letting him on well this is every single word she'd say" and yes, i def. think this song is about a 'perfect relationship' but it's been slowly pulling apart and the guy is a jerk, but the girl is just trying to hold on to the pieces. so the lyrics are telling the girl to just "let it go" and maybe the guy is constantly pulling the girl back into love with him, hence the "forget his lies" and "just say it's done, and be gone". kinda like a band-aid- rip it off quickly. less painful in a sense. |

I really agree with DowntownRomance; this really sounds like a kid that has a secret (i dont' think it necessarily has to be about being gay- it could be an addiction or just a deep personal secret that guilts him). -"Midday delusions of pushing this out of his head" It really sounds to me more like an event that happened that he's keeping secret, something that is haunting him but that he's trying to forget about. I really love this song tho, really caught my attention. I didn't know a whole lot of the Used other than "What it is to burn" (great song) before this- |

| OK so...nvm, i just tried to find lyrics and learned that it was instrumental. BUT i still dont' understand that if "cowboys" is jumping, "neg. space" is falling, and "priest/matador" is landing, why does he say at the end of "cowboys", "here i lie" if he hasn't landed yet? | |

This song mentions some sort of pyro tendency- ~"I hope the fire licks my lips And pulls me close against the wrists This town will go down in flames" which is mentioned in other songs, like Angela Baker and my Obsession with fire, he talks about setting his own home? or just a house on fire and calling the cops. I think this song is about a man who is upset from a recently ended relationship or from a girl who has messed with his head so he is just completely lonely and pissed. |
