I think it can seem logical as social stats or social stance. I definitely believe that he is saying adobe slabs. When you think of adobe you should think of mud...and when you think of mud its not too far off if you think of slabs of mud (such slabs of mud that you through on a house to thicken it/build it). Lovely song. He is basically exalting a simple life free from focus on materialistic things and, hence, more transcendent. |

| The Killers – Goodnight, Travel Well Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song reminds me of the Radiohead song "Climbing up the Walls" off their album OK Computer. Yes, for some reason it reminds me of it. Probably because they both have this forbidding sound. Go here if you want to here the Radiohead song I am referring to, then compare it to the Killers song:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgDPkqiXrjc I'm not saying the Killers plagarized, I'm just trying to express my feelings of how profound these songs sound alike. But then this song reminds me of something else...its a great song; I'll come back and give my interpretation of the lyrics after I've listened and actually paid close attention to the lyrics. To me, I got the impression that the speaker of this song was lamenting on the limitations of the world. --about how we must keeping going arduously through life even with these limitations (hense "travel well"). And he's tired of the limitations pushing down on him. Thats my jab at an interpretation. |

Also, the ending really gives you insight into how the speaker is feeling "You know its true, why don't you leave me here?" I think thats more of a rhetorical questions that is meant to imply bitterness towards a person, maybe bitterness towards the world. Maybe bitterness towards the whole universe for being born who he is. |

| This song makes the world seem so bland. Maybe he was writing this song and he was feeling that the world was bland, and never ending. Well thats the feeling I get from it. | |
| The Bravery – Fearless Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| 'Something wicked this way comes' was the tagline of the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban film. Harry P is pretty fearless in a way also, so maybe it was a reference to him. | |
| Maroon 5 – Nothing Lasts Forever Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| um...who has Nicole Richie's cd in the first place? And second of all I think that both songs using the chorus "Nothing lasts forever..." are good in there own way. I wonder if Adam regrets having to share it with Kanye. I wonder who made it first... | |
| The Killers – This River Is Wild Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is a quote from an interview Brandon had with NME magizines "It's a strange one. Some people already hate it; some people like it, but the ones who love it are diehard. I love it! If ever there's been a musical journey this is it. When I listen to it I don't want it to end. Each chorus is different, that's untypical of us, so it's our shot at doing something different. This is also the most literal song here. I was born in Las Vegas but I grew up in a small town in Utah called Nephi, and the whole idea of escaping it and the excitement of that prospect is all captured on this." |

"Sometimes we forget time, And I woke up a little too late tonight Dreams should last a long time This is not what I'd call goodbye (?)" At this part the same synthetic sounds from 'This River is Wild' are played....or at least they sound a lot alike. |

| The Killers – Where the White Boys Dance Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
You can find it on LimeWire... or iTunes haha... And am I the only who thought this was the diss song to Fall Out Boy? I mean they say 'calm before the storm' and that just so happens to be one of FOB's hit singles (wow I'm such a FOB fan saying FOB -.-). And 'where the white boys dance' is like the 'SCENE' where Fall Out Boy and basically 'punks' gather at. I don't believe it is about FOB anymore though because of the comments I read here. Did you guys know the diss song to The Killers was 'This Ain't A Scene...'? Formerly know as 'You Can't Spell Star without A&R'... I'm a loser. -.- |

| Porcupine-ology...I forgot what other songs that is mentioned in, but I think that is her innocent way of saying 'sex' :P | |
| Fall Out Boy – Thriller Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| OK, let me break this down to you guys....In the line "Last summer we took threes across the board", 'board' possibly means the BILLBOARD charts. So if that is true then I think by 'last summer we took threes', didn't they release THREE singles by the end of last summer? 'Sugar, were...', 'Dance, Dance', and 'A Little Less...'. Also Jay-Z says 'Young FOB'! And that is pretty funny because he usually calls himself 'Young HOV'! LOL! Get it? | |
