I saw Katleen Edward play in Vicar Street, Dublin supporting Josh Ritter. I instantly loved her. In this song the woman has given up everything she knows to go and live in her partners town. He seems to be oblivious to the sacrifices she has made. Shes trying hard to make it work, but he just expects her to assume this new life without a hitch. He gets to have everything he knows and she gets to live in his apartment with his things . . . and a 'copied key'. In the end, shes going to leave: 'This is not my town and it will never be, it will never be ours' |
