this is my favorite song. i'm sorry the lyrics aren't perfect but you know they're pretty close in my opinion. this song is so soft-spoken compared with the other tracks on their album but it's one of the most powerful IMO. his voice always gives me the chills. |

you are the only one - umm... duh. also goes along with the sun
you are so cold - she doesn't return the feeling. LOVE how this is the opposite of the (warm) sun.
you are so rock and roll - part of the reason he likes her so much is that her being cold and aloof makes her more like a star, more desirable. |

Yeah, so, I love this song! I agree with everyone, especially the vampire comparisons... yeah. Consuming the innocence made me think of maybe consuming blood... like blood is life, and she's alive, innocent and not damned like the vampire...

It makes me think of a wife worried sick about her husband a soldier somewhere (she sleeps feverish dreaming of your life; she doesn't rest in peace), thinking about life, and if he will come home, and if its worth it to keep waiting (do you owe this?) I don't know. I'm probably wrong. |
