It's about being caught up in a dream in which everything will stay fine and everything won't change and everything is okay...when things just don't work like that. "Everybody's changing / Oh, everybody's changing / And I don't know how much more I can take" explains that change is so overwhelming and it's a slap in the face. Once the realization occurs, it takes from there, everything else changes, and you're left with something completely different. And it sucks ass. I don't think I'd grow up to have a song written so closely about me. Damn. |
