I think that is a song about Bush, maybe even like hes singing it to Bush Sr.. But its pretty point blank on making fun of Bush. It is on Rock against Bush vo.2. Its a kind of revamped verison of American idoit in a way, but it focuses more just on Bush himself, not on america in genarel. anyway, thats just my veiw on it...... |

Well, first I think that The radar ping is just there cause it sounds cool, but I'm not sure. And Anne Frank was a Jewish girl born in Germany but when the Nazis where coming into power her family left for Amsterdam because it had been a neutral country in WW2 and thought it would be safe from the Nazis. Then the Nazis invaded Amsterdam and Anne, her family and one other family went into hiding.while she was in there she couldn't have any contact with the outside world for fear of being cought by the Nazis. She couldn't talk while people were in the building, as they were hiding in a warehouse. And she had to control herself and her feelings all while being locked up in this small area with 7 other people. The only place she could truely let go was in her now famous diary. And after two years in hiding, her and the other people were found by the nazis and sent to concentration camps. All of them died excpet for her father who lived and was liberated at the end of the war. |

ok, the song,like so many otheres written by jeff,is about Anne Frank. And the reason its Anna not Anne is because in German and Dutch they always prononce the 'e' at the end of names and words. So in English we would say Anne they would say Anna. And to anyone who says the dont see how this song is about Anne Frank...well, maybe you should go read the dairy. It DEFFAINTLY IS. |

ok, in almost every song on the aeroplane over the sea CD you can find a refrance to anne frank and her family. I think this song is about peter and Anne. theres apart in the diary where she said peter schiff(the kid she liked before hiding) and peter van pels had melted into one and that could explain the two headed boy title. and catching singnals in the dark could be how Peter and anne where always with eachother in the dark because it was easier for them to talk,so that could explain also. |

The whole piont of this song is that back in the late 60's and 70's things where much more care free and now people only care about themselves. About how things then where much less materalistic rather than today where material items rule the world insted off people who really care.The song has a GREAT message....more people need to hear this song. |

Ok, this song IS about Anne Frank. The song is beautiful.the lyrics: The only girl I've ever loved
Was born with roses in her eyes
But then they buried her alive
One evening 1945
With just her sister at her side
And only weeks before the guns
All came and rained on everyone
is a literal refrance to Anne.The frist line is about how Anne always tryed to see the good in people.Hence, roses in her eyes. And no, she wasnt buried alive but she symbolicly was by being put into hiding for two years of her life and then being throw into the camps. and at the end of her life she only had her sister with her. and only weeks before the guns rained down on everyone is how they died just a few weeks before the camps where liberated. and the rest of the song is about her family. |

I know that this may not be how most people interprate this song....but to me it sounds alot like Anne frank's story. First off the Title "Amsterdam". And just look at the lyrics...Come on, oh my star is fading
And I see no chance of release
And I know I'm dead on the surface
But I am screaming underneath
This part reminds me off how she felt she would fade away and how she thought they would never make it out if hiding. And also how she didn't show her feelings on the outside but rather how she expressed herself in her diary. But hey, thats just me. |
