Could this be about Dee Dee Ramone? He would have met Sid Vicious (on the Ramones UK tour) in 1976. And Dee Dee hailed from Queens (Forest Hills, not Whitestone.) Dee Dee died of a heroin overdose in 2002. Or, maybe it's just about some street kid who was an awful lot like Dee Dee. |

| The Crucifucks – By The Door Lyrics

This is some of the most annoying, abrasive "music" ever recorded. The Crucifucks were as reactionary as anyone out there. Punk as fuck. 20-some-odd years later, Doc Dart's nasal midwestern sing-song twang still makes me smile! |

| Bob Marley and the Wailers – Crazy Baldheads Lyrics

I am pretty sure the Fishbone cover of this song plays on the baldhead/skinhead idea. Though racist skinheads had nothing to do with the original lyrics. Marley was talking about the Jamaican government and its lackeys. The Marcia Griffiths version of this song is also particulally good. |

| Naked Raygun – I Don't Know Lyrics

My favorite NR song. I like the frenzied guitar riff at the beginning. The song's sentiments have always eminded me of Stiff Little Fingers' "Suspect Device" sort of a veiled threat about the dangers that can come when you attempt to control people. |

| Swingin' Utters – Stupid Lullabies Lyrics

This sounds like another estranged-father-and-son tune from the Utters. Kinda like a precursor to "Bitter Old Son" by (Utters ofshoot)The Filthy Thieving Bastards.
I'm guessing Corey Koski had some dad problems. Great song! |

| The Queers – I Only Drink Bud Lyrics

I always thought this was Joe's attempt at a corporate sponsorship but, of course, he has to go and say "motherfuckers" throughout, kinda putting the kibosh on that. Awesome!
Also, I read in Heather King's book, Parched, (she's Joe's sister) that when they were growing up they used to call various things and people "queer" meaning stupid/geeky. That's where the band name came from. Nothing really to do with homosexuals. |

| The Queers – I Met Her At The Rat Lyrics

I think this was a fairly typical scenario: Joe (probably living in his parent's basement) introduces some chick to his folks at the breakfast table. Met her at the Rat(hskeller) - old Boston club. |

| Swingin' Utters – No Eager Men Lyrics

It seems to be about a dancer/stripper(?) who is looking for eager men to burn. Maybe the narrator is just another chump, who can't help it.
Or maybe its about a girl under the thumb of a pimp?
This oldie is still one of my favorite SU songs. |

| Fear – I Don't Care About You Lyrics

Ahh..the nihilist anthem. Pass the Kool-Ade. Fear was almost always a lot of fun to see live. Lee's over-the-top mysogynist schtick was (I've always thought) purely that... schtick. He was good though. A real pro. |

Ahhh... "...to be a martyr for a dying cause" makes so much more sense than "...to be a model for Italian cars." Which is how I heard it at first. |

I've always tried to decipher what 's being shouted at the beginning of the song? It's audible on the live versions too. |

It sounds like Robert Cray. The song is about leaving your girl with a friend you thought you could trust, when in fact.... |

| Dag Nasty – Matt Lyrics

This song is about Matt Garrett (brother of then-Dag Drummer, Scott.) Matt was a goofy, extremely likeable teenager who led a very charmed and lucky life.. hence the police being called to a disturbance only to find "a bunch of kids in a pool.." or whatever. |
