This song is clearly about drugs. The Glow was about getting high and The Glow Pt 2 is about coming down. If you have ever done any type of psychedelic drug you will find this song to be the most perfect depiction of what its like to lose that synthetic, chemically-induced happiness.
I think the lyrics frame the song writer's experience in a metaphor. You might see its literal meaning as being about a near death experience, but c'mon... that's just a facade. Its the combination of the lyrics and persistently melancholy tone of the song that make it clear that its about an acid hangover, or something similar. Thanks for comin out. |

Like behind0eyes, I believe this song is written from the perspective of one the two brothers. he is an alcoholic and the shame of the family. his brother kills and wife and is convicted of murder and goes to jail. so the brother who was the bad brother is now the good brother, because even though he is an alcoholic drug addict he looks good compared to the murderer. somehow the fact that his brother turned into such monster gives him a chance to be redeemed. |
