Mat Kearney – Where we gonna go from here Lyrics 18 years ago
When he says "the back of your eyes look like my mothers" I'm thinking that when he looks into her eyes, he's looking up at her, admiring her as a boy might his mother. Also this could mean she feels like home to him, warm and comforting.
As for "when we talk you're like my brother", that's more about a relationship of equality, a friendship with a person that you connect to, that gets you, it's more evident not when he stares at her but when they talk, share, communicate openly- they're on the same level.

I was also wondering if maybe this song is from the perspective of having already lost her to another forcing a choice to travel and see 700... leaving her behind, but still keeping an eye on her from a distance, watching her develop into a more beautiful person, but next time he gets the oppurtunity he won't lose her to another, like he laready did before.

In the meantime his life feels like it's a haze, not sure where he's going and who will come his way "carlights in the driveway" and that question always on his mind "where we gonna go from here"
rethorically he wonders, not because he doesn't know what to do but because the answer is not in his power, he'll have to wait and see.

Chantal Kreviazuk – Actions Without Love Lyrics 18 years ago
This one's for my hubby who loves this song and was dissapointed there were no comments.

The first stanza is about half-hearted efforts that don't quite get their goal accomplished. The second is about the misapplication of love. An abuse of what should be beautiful for selfish ends. The third is about generosity and giving that is motivated by self-exaltation. She had to double check, see if it fit her schedule, life, capacity, willingness to give. It was obviously not a priority, or maybe she was looking for a way out, an excuse to hold back. But afterall, she would reason, deluding herself or just lying to others? that if she could she would have given, helped, sacrificed.

All of them are displaying actions that appear to be virtuous but they are like clashing symbols - without love.

Peter Bjorn and John – Paris 2004 Lyrics 18 years ago
I adore this song! It was love at first sound. I’ve been listening to it non-stop for days, everyone around me is sick of it, and I’m hoping I will too very soon. How many times will it take for my heart and stomach to stop aching and habituate?

I think it describes how precious even mundane activities like breakfast can be when in the right company, nothing/ no one else matters because it's all about you and the other person.

I love the imagery and symbolism of drawing a ring on a finger, with a marker no less. Simple and sweet.

In-Flight Safety – Fear Lyrics 19 years ago
Going outside is about running from love
Carrying on at home is about hiding from love
But it follows you and it can be scary like footsteps behind you
It can find you even lost in a sea of faces
But when you stop running and hiding from it
Because you decided to change, because you realize you need it
You turn to face it
You face what you fear
And there it is
Love staring straight at you
And suddenly you realize that you’re not so afraid anymore
Because love throws fear aside
That’s what I think the song is about
And I would add, that change happens when you realize that being without love is scarier
than the possibility of losing it
So you take that risk
And hope
Hope for the best
