I've heard about wat this song means and lyrics are really clear about it, but the hype in this song is so incredible, it keeps me awake and kicking whenever i'm driving back from a drag-assed day of work. No doubt it is in my SOAD best of the best customized CD case (its customized cuz i made it, its not in stores). Then again, almost all of there songs are great, but this one is special. Revenga connects great with this song too, in the album version.

The concept of a tapeworm can mean a lot of things to this song, wat does a tapeworm do? it is a parasite or a type of fatal bacteria that exists in the presence of uncleansed meat, more like meat buying from someone with dirty hands or meat that is already rotted. Its a parasite that grows in u (when consuming the meat of course) and in one case i heard that it can eat away the gray material your brain is made out of (besides the case that it can hook up its claw like fangs up your anus or genitals and sucks up the vitamins in ur stomach). You slowly die painfully and as an autist (fancy word for someone who is literally retarded) at the same time. The pain is unbearable and cannot be released until the touch of death sets u free from that. Now, aside from the info i expalined, an example of a tapeworm can be the idiots i work with everyday who make my job impossible!! it can be a relationship with an abusing guy or with a bitchy ass girl. It can also be the addiction to drugs! The thing about SOAD and prolly other great bands (quite a few to me) talk about stuff that can be looked at different viewpoints. Noone is completely right or wrong, i just hate to hear people that claim that their opinion is about one thing and that it is that, and it pisses me of cuz they do this all the time when they don't try to get wat it might mean. But newayz, can't absolutely prove anyone here wrong cuz this is just a fricken online message chat or w/e the fuck its called, the point is, can't chat face to face just *type* type* type* type*

According to the lyrics, cuz we all kno Daron smokes everything like hell and prolly writes his songs in that stage, the song talks about whether or not its up to us to break the bind of TV (which i can't), living life the way u want to (agreed). Don't really care if the tru interpretation came out of Daron's Dad, honestly, i don't give a shit, I say it from wat i hear it. PappMacka, u tell em!! u got the right idea and mindset about wat u were saying and wat i was trying to say. its true, science can be trusted as always, faith is wat keeps us alive, meaning that the freedom we have in our minds that allows to do anything we want. newayz, just wanted to say once more about this, i hear about stuff like this all the time as well as u guys do, but in different words and times. I believe that everyone has the power to do everything and it is moved by will itself. To do anything they want, science is the art of analyzing, researching, and collecting data from life, without it, we'd be immobile. As a spiritual person (not religious) i believe a force such as God gave us these challenges that we argue amongst themselves, and if everyone got everything they wanted just like that, than it wouldn't be living life at all (and yes i do mean God gave us science which is the best tool He/She gave us). I mean, S.O.A.D. does have a good backbone to respond to Political stuff but they mainly do talk about stuff that happens in life. They talk about life, the way we live it and thatz why they are great, cuz they speak the truth. Anyways, my point in this song, yeah, it seems at first random killing thoughts to get back at someone which spells out 'revenge', and in the middle to the end, they reveal the motivation to their vengeful thoughts, a chick who prolly fucked them. . . in a bad way. Anyways, can't figure out meanings for some of their songs, especially cuz Daron (the guitarist) writes most of em, he is a bit random due to his nature, but thats why we luv im!! lol

This song is probably the most depressing song made by System and not only does it have that but it has a lot of feeling put into the consept of war. War is sumthing thats part of human nature and its stupid but also reality, the fact still remains that nothing good comes out from war. We have little wars with ourselves in our lives. We fight everyday to survive and the only time we have to fight is for justice and for wat is worth great (like life, people, family, etc.) but to fight wars that is only interests and unjust reasons is not only labeled an unjust war, its a slaughter. Hope System of a Down comes back from their breaks, i hope! Go S.O.A.D., and go Freedom of Speech!!

My opinion may not be strong and feel free to agree or disagree, but its my opinion. I think that we need 2 opposites to live, not only religion itself and neither science itself either. We need both of them to live our lives in harmony. What this song talks about (to me) is the excess in science, and almost no use in faith (an inbalance, you see?). In many ways science benefits us cuz we apply it everyday in our lives. Faith is great to have, i'm not talking about mainly religious faith, but the faith that keeps our spirits moving such as knowing that ur gonna get thru the day well and many challenges we face in our lives which is being human. That part of our mind that we are trying to achieve which is the spirit, which is that I believe that there is a God up there who gave us that wat makes us laugh and cry. To me, I think spirits move thru all things that which is alive, and i mean everything that is active, there is no way of proving that sumthing does exist or doesn't exist. Anyways, this song had quite the controversial effect, anyways, enough religion and life talking for now, HEAVY METAL!!
