| That is absolutely not Josh Scogin, for ya. Sorry man, but you are way off. | |
| Underoath – Too Bright to See, Too Loud to Hear Lyrics | 17 years ago |

It's definitely Spencer, saw it live, and his voice was the same. Speaking of live, probably one of the best live songs I've ever heard. |

| The Chariot – Someday, in the Event That Mankind Actually Figures Out What It Is That This World Revolves Around, Thousands of People Are Going to Be Shocked and Perplexed to Find Out That It Was Not Them. Sometimes This Includes Me. Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I asked scogin at a show, He said they still don't know. While they were recording the CD, they had a lunch break and them and Matt Goldman went to go eat, and they came back and that message was on Goldman's answering machine. They have no idea what it said, but they put it on the album. Funny story. |

| Underoath – Desolate Earth :: The End Is Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I kinda think the whole point of the whole CD is pretty blunt. It obviously tells the story of someone who is caught up in a single sin (drugs, alcohol, lying, whatever applies to you really.) and is trying to get rid of it so that they can live their life for God and His glory, and basically just be a Christian and serve God. But they can't, because they are "Lost in the Sound of Seperation" (Sin seperates us from God.) So they try to get rid of it, about the middle of the CD it takes hold of them again and brings them down, then they are complete desperate. Then God redeems them and frees them of that burden of sin. It's all about God's Grace and Mercy. Read all of the lyrics in order of the track listing and you'll see it. -alex. |

| The Chariot – The Bullet Never Lies, and Time Will Prove All Things (An Allegory of Unfaithful Jerusalem) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i reversed the song, and the ending (i think) scogin says: "it has to be a keeper cause i was mooning everyone." |
|
| Bright Eyes – If Winter Ends Lyrics | 19 years ago |

when my girlfriend broke up with me, i grasped this song like it was life support. that's the most emo sentence i've ever said, but this is a truely amazing song. |

| Bright Eyes – Hit the Switch Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is most definitely my favorite off the album. Because I relate to one part so much it's scary. "Stab the ice with a straw My eyes have turned red as stoplights You seem ready to walk You know I'll call you eventually When I wanna talk Until then you're invisible Because there's a switch that gets hit And it all stops making sense. And in the middle of drinks Maybe the fifth or sixth I'm completely alone At a table of friends I feel nothing for them I feel nothing Nothing" I just feel that so much. And even though he probably means something other than what I feel, I love it. I was there. I went out to eat with my girlfriend and some other friends who'd I'd hang out with all the time. And I was playing with my ice in the middle and thinking and just so quiet. And it hit me, "I don't love these people like I've been saying I have." I just felt like I was alone, because not even my girlfriend was there for me. Amazing song, truely amazing. Connor is so brilliant. |

favorite line: "so come." i love how he is anticipating it. |

| The Chariot – Good Night My Lady, and a Forever Farewell Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i read it a few times, and here's what i got. this dude lived his life out as a christian. and he was legit all the the way through. but, the dude died. ("my life reamains a sunday.") he built his life up and up, (staircase). he's buried under the ground, but he's in heaven. throw your roses, throw your tears: funeral service. the people that didn't listen to what he had to say about faith, make sure you're right. and when it comes down to it, those people will stutter: "well, maybe he is right." |

im not too sure this is a break up song. it doesn't seem right. be kinda cool if it was though. and if it is, i get what they mean by "my life remains a sunday," because my girlfriend broke up with me on a sunday (ironically), so it always feels like that stupid pain of that sunday. |

i think you are right, pinkfloyd dude. i didn't see it till i read your comment, but it makes a lot of sense. a lot of the beginning i think, has to do with how the priests didn't think Jesus was the Messiah. because they were so prideful that and they thought they knew what was up. and then it ended up screwing them over. |
