Actually, I happen to be personal friends with Jared Jolley and it's not about a break up or a love ending; well in a sense it is. But it actually is about a love suicide between two people in love. We'll call them "john" and "mary". John and Mary were together and madly in love, but John suffered as a manic depressant. He often threatened to kill himself but always found a reason not to. He was a nobody, and Mary was a somebody. Mary was very well known and liked and at first no one ever understood why they were together, but in time felt that he completed her. Because Mary was so in love with John and would do anything for him, she told him she would kill herself with him, just to make him happy. They set a date to do it, but when the night came, Mary chickened out.. She instead went to a play (romeo and juliet) while she watched them die she put them as her and John.. John waited all night for Mary, and eventually killed himself writing a one line suicide note to Mary "I'll meet you halfway." Mary killed herself then, and was found with the note in her hand. Everyone blamed John for Mary's death. If you're confused then keep reading, I'll write the lyrics and follow them up by what they mean: And this one is certainly an interesting story. It starts with an ending. *Not too much to say here and we're both characters in play. On the same stage but on a different page *Mary seeing her and John on stage in place of Romeo and Juliet, but being completely different people, they're on different pages you'll go on to become the queen of some kingdom. And I'll be that monster of myth off in some forest, mire or filth. *Like I said before, Mary was well liked and known, making her like a queen, where John was a nobody and kind of quiet, (and "the reason for her death") making him to be some sort of monster. This time around I'll meet you halfway and I won't spend my life lying awake at night. *Suicide note included. John stayed up hours everynight just lying in bed (says Mary) and he was getting sick of it. And they'll say I'm the emerald missing from your crown. The greatest escapist the world has ever known *After a while, everyone said that he completed her, but all the while he was only going to esape them both from the world. Now it's so clear to me. We should have seen this coming back at the beginning. *Everyone realizes they should have seen it coming We both chose to take this road to the same place but at a different pace. *They both chose the answer together, suicide. But because she was too scared at first he was quicker than her. She couldn't keep up at first but finally did. This time around I'll meet you halfway And I won't spend my life Lying awake at night *Same as before And I'll say I'm the fabled one that let you down. *We hope that John realizes what he did.. Everyone feels that he let Mary down. The greatest escapist the world has ever known. *They were the greatest escapist's. |
