Hey melencholy, nobody has to listen to Lifehouse, a Christian band, if they don't want to.

Lifehouse – Hanging By A Moment Lyrics 16 years ago
I heard somewhere that this song was written as a prayer, which makes sence if you think about it. It could also be about love, but I know that, especially with catholisism, christianity is about surrendering your will to god, and this song talks about that: forgetting all i'm lacking
completely incomplete
i'll take your invitation
you take all of me

Either way, it is a great song, and
I LOVE LIFEHOUSE!!!

Ok, this is kind of cheasy, but please bear with me. My father is 6'4'', and about 220 pounds. he is also a huge huge HUGE Paul Simon fan. when he first heard this sng, and it got to the part "As long as one and one is two.
There could never be a father;
Who loved his daughter more than I love you.", he smiled and told me, "well, I can think of on eFather who lves his daughter more"...I almost cried.

Paul Simon – Late in the Evening Lyrics 17 years ago
If someone were to write Paul SImon's biography, they would have to call it "All the Music Seeping Through". This is literally the story of his life; the man lives for his music.

The Wallflowers – One Headlight Lyrics 17 years ago
this song is amazing...nothing else to be said

Actually, I do have more to say. This is one of those songs that you will always remember. I could go a year without hearing it, and then I'll be driving along, and it will be playing on the radio, and suddenly, I know all the lyrics again and I'm singing along and I'm almost crying cause this song is so f***ing good and before I know it, I'm two exits past my own.

I think that I agree with Honey bee, somewhat. I also think that this could be a true story. The grief and depresion and even the self loathing that this song conveys are much too honest and heartfelt to be made up. I think maybe the singer had a close friend, possibly girlfriend, or just a friend whom he loved privately, and he is contamplating suicide, or wishes he could have the guts to, because he is so depressed about the moral decay of a world that would push "my only friend" out of "her window ledge".

Barenaked Ladies – When I Fall Lyrics 17 years ago
This is an interesting song. To me the situation in it, i.e., window washing, insn't a metaphor for anything, but i think that his fear of falling is meant to be ironic. It's like a lion tamer who is allergic to cats.

And I think that the transition from "if i fall" to "when i fall" is important. the washer has given up struggling with fate, his kismet is to fall off his scaffold and die.

"would you catch me if I fall?"

They're frightened of jumping, in case they survive

I wish I could step from this scaffold
Onto soft green pastures, shopping malls, or bed
With my family and my pastor and my grandfather who's dead

the window washer hopes that when he falls, god will "catch" him, I.E., take him to heaven

I agree with Catheriniks, it is pretty unbelievable the range of maturity, or immaturity, that these guys produce.
