I'm pretty sure the girl's name is Jeanine, not Jenning. That makes no sense.
Also, the girl singing at the end sounds kinda like Regina Spektor. |

Actually, after his break-up with his fiance, this is probably the perfect point in his career to write a song about a relationship with a girl. |

I s'pose this could be a metaphor for when you actually get to be with a person you had a huge crush on and finding it to be more than you can handle, or boring, or what have you (A la Sam and Cindy from "Freaks and Geeks").
Or it could just be about wanting to be a spaceman. |

Yeah, I don't think he's saying that Elvis and the Rolling Stones were bad, and especially not because they're white. He's saying that Rock began with black musicians, but that fact has been just about lost on today's generation. |

Star Wars, Norman Mailer, John Lennon and Paul McCartney all referenced in a single rap song? Brilliance. |

This song is about a guy who never got herpes from his girlfriend. He sees the transmission herpes as a sign of true love and is sorely (no pun intended... well, maybe) disappointed. |

WTF are there any inaccurate "Wincing the Night Away" lyrics when the lyrics are printed in the FREAKING LINER NOTES!?! |

This is a great song... the lyrics are much deeper than one would guess based on face value. That's BNL's style. |

I absolutely love this song. I think it's fairly literal: it's the beginning of summer and the guy wants the girl to relax, get the "whole world" off her shoulders, and be with him. I really like the line "We can be unemployed together" which really adds a great carefree sense to the song.
Plus, I can relate to it, because there's this beautiful girl whose smile makes me smile. |
