i love this song. so much. elliot smith is amazing, why did he have to kill himself? i love how in the live version eliott says, "this ones to mary lou. mary lou, are you here?" and some girl goes "you can call me mary lou!" haha ad elliot didnt say anythingg. so the statement above me must be right because he asked about her... i love when it says "but ill pick up around you and clear everything out leave you where i found you" its basically saying he can fix her and do his job, but hes going to quit it as soon as its done. |

| obviously its about religion. as with all of conor's songs, theyre simply amazing. each has like a main idea of the song with little undertones of ideas. this ones about religion, obviously. but i think its also about lessons and doubting them. | |
