| We Are The Ocean – The Afterparty Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| ok having listened to it again i beleive its about a girl whos he seems to like however she doesnt seem to be interested in him hence the 'How much can u see from across the room?' Also the biterness of 'Its not a fancy dress....' could be implying that maybe she thinks herself too good for him | |

| woo 1st comment : D This song is awesome and theyre an awesome band. I geuss its about a guy who sees a girl at a party and decides he likes her however some of it seems rather bitter so i cnt help getting the feeling that maybe hes debating doing something or maybe that shes not his type or woteva. Hope more ppl give opinions on this song soon : ) | |

| Awesome song. I dnt completely understand but i get the impression its of some guy whos unsure whether or not his realtionship with the girl whos 'so cold' is worth maintaining. If anyone actually knows what this is about it would really help : D | |

Please don't be technology Cause I can't turn off your love Like some cold machine Don’t feed me scraps from your bed And I won't be the stray coming back Just to be fed Don’t be waves Come to seal my fate, marine Just pretend That you want me And be my babe Don’t be that note I can't hold Don’t be that joke that I told And told Till it got old Don’t be that hand around my throat So I can't breathe You say you're my friend But why won't you be my family? Well, if you breed Just don't tell me Be my babe. Be my serene Tell me you know what I mean You’ve set on me but you are not the sun And you will not listen |

Again music means different things to different people, and as i said above the ambiguity in the lyrics do make it sound as if it may be about a girl. I dont know the current state of affairs between Jesse and his dad but from the lyrics like You are so fragile and thin, standing trial for your sins and Pale white like the skin stretched over your bones seem as if its about an old man not an young women. Also what would the relevance of the title be if it wasnt about his dad? And finally if Jesse said himself what the song was about then you cant really argue about why he wrote it, only about what it means to you. |

| Also to Rose, lines such as 'Your the blood in my veins' bring home the fact its about his dad | |

Yeh this song is written about his dad, though i can see the ambiguity in the lyrics an can identify with the guy-girl thing great song though, my favourite on the album Surely one of the greatest endings to a song, sends a shiver down my spine every time i hear it |
