I want to die in ur arms..? I just wanr to hold u tight? hmmmm but no promises? The whole point of romance is about the promise that when u wake up in the morning he'll be there right? So yeah I definitely think the song is a contradiction. Unless of course he's ttrying to point out the fact that sometimes there are things beyond one's control where he cant make the promise that they'll be together forever... u know thats the one promise that one can be forgiven for not keeping... if they die... otherwise its nice to always know that the other's trying. After all isnt that what a promise really is... the hope that u'll be able to fulfill whatever it is to the best of ur ability...? |

This song made me cry after a break up that had happened a year earlier. We'd both ended up doing stupid things in that year after the break up but the chemistry was still there and I miss him terribly as a boyfriend and thats where the "Times when innocence I'd trade for company" and all those nights when I'd think of him were definitely the 'longest' nights ever! And we were both trying very hard to move on |
