| Mirah – Telephone Wires Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i think its more about a long distance relationship that's fallen apart, but they still love each other "scared of the feeling of you coming home" either because, it will hurt to see them when it isnt the same anymore or because they will just leave again and the telephone wires, the fact that her relationship with this girl (presumably, since mirah is in fact openly gay) has diminished to something that is restricted to talking on the phone |

"Is simple. Just subtract the line of the lyric to 672.You have 666 I think that "they" are demons." THat's really smart, i hadnt noticed that. maybe 672 is a bad memory, which is why she picked that number of verses. She seems to be enjoying the fact that no one really knows, she said so in a blog on on myspace. |

The orangeman is/was a symbol in british folklore, they were the notorious bad guys. "The orangeman's got you"- a childs nightmare- mothers would tell there children the orange man would get them. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think this song isn't too close home for her- if you watch the roundhouse DVD she is laughing and seemingly enjoying it (the performance), being theatrical and stuff, but in the next song, Slide, she seems awkward and slightly uncomfortable and sad-ish. I think this song is mocking all her seductive piano teachers. |

| Evanescence – Breathe No More Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"lie to me, convince me that i've been sick forever..." it seems as if someone is telling her she has some sort of mental illness (which would make sense from "lithium" and the fact she married a therapist), and she doesn't want to accept it. its like she wonders whether said person see her for who she is or who they want her to be. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Mandy Goes to Med School Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| concerning the gangbanger reference- this is a song about abortion and a common reason why a woman would want an abortion is because the baby may have been conceived through rape- hence the gangbanger getting said part removed and sutured up | |

| The Dresden Dolls – Mandy Goes to Med School Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i'm having trouble with one line.... "no sweat i've got aim like a Mack truck" how exactly do Mack Trucks aim? and what are Amanda's (Mandy/Amanda) fingers doing? i thought the coat hanger was supposed to be doing the work? If you read Amanda's myspace blogs, you will see she often references or says things about abortion. i would say she is sort of obsessed with it, and has been from a very young age- in "new from the cripple front" she talks of back yard circus's and says "it would be like abortion-like, unromantic yard sale with the neighborhood kids" eh. i don't know. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Half Jack Lyrics | 19 years ago |

the song is dedicated to her father, yes. Amanda Palmer also identifies herself as being bisexual. at first that can be hard to accept- scars could imply self-mutilation, also talked about in Bad Habit it could be for her father because he could possibly be a douche bag and chose not to accept it, and so his name was thrown in. theres also the chance that possibly this is a song, and is creative and well written, but has no personal reference. |
