Breaking Benjamin – The Diary of Jane Lyrics | 16 years ago |
For some reason, whenever I hear this song I think about it in a female perspective, with Jane as a another woman (whole forbidden thing...) or 'Jane' as a guy who's using her as a random thing to fuck while she wants him to really love her. Long-winded analysis: If I had to I would put myself right beside you So let me ask Would you like that? Would you like that? -She'll do anything for him to really love her, even change herself completely, but she's not really happy about doing so and would only do it for him. And I don't mind if you say this love is the last time and now I'll ask Do you like that? Do you like that? No -He couldn't care less about her if he decides to leave, but tells her that it could be the last time he sees her everytime they're together.'And I don't mind' could refer to the girl's ill-treatment or a sarcastic reply to this. Something's getting in the way Something's just about to break I will try to find my place in the Diary of Jane So tell me how it should be -She hopelessly thinks it could work with someone she knows dosen't care, and is tearing herself into pieces emotionally and mentally, just to be a part of his life. Try to find out What makes you tick as I lie down Sore and sick Do you like that? Do you like that? -This sounds like she's remembering the first time they had sex, knowing he didn't love her (or really didn't know him) and possibly having no idea what expect... Try to find out What makes you tick as I lie down Sore and sick Do you like that? Do you like that? -She really hates him for what he has made her do and turn into, but still loves him all the same. Try to find out What makes you tick as I lie down Sore and sick Do you like that? Do you like that? -When it comes to his bad points and the 'bad' things he does to her and others, she chooses to look the other way and ignore the obvious problems. Despereate I will crawl -She's wasted so much of her time and love , and is now reduced to crawling on her hands and knees for him, begging him to stay, because without this, she has nothing, and can't believe what she has become- Something's getting in the way Something's just about to break I will try to find my place In the Diary of Jane As I burn another page As I look the other way I still try to find my place In the Diary of Jane -So this is in the present tense, and she still crawls and tries to find her place in the diary of 'Jane' Depressing...T_T |
Travis – Good Day To Die Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is about a person (most likely a woman...although could be a man, I'm not sure) who's been abused emotionally, physically and worse for their entire life and are now doing the same thing themselves and feel terrible for it. For example... 'Where is your mother, where is your father?' (abusive parents who abandoned them eventually?) 'Two little children, locked in the cupboard' (the person's own children, who are now being abused but hidden? Or this could a be a reference to their siblings...) 'Into the wide world, high on the high wire' (the person tried to make a normal life for themselves, but ended up getting even worse. 'High wire' could also be a reference to 'high risk' prostitution...I'm not sure) 'What would you give to fly away...' (the person would give anything to get out, duh) 'Girl with the flower, boy with the hammer Lost in a forest, on another planet' (bad drug trip used to try and numb the pain, probably) 'Find me the exit, find me the way home Find all the love they took away...' (same as last line of first verse) 'Cause your head is a brick wall and your heart is a football And your eyes open windows when you cry It's a good day to die' (no matter what the person does, their situation keep getting worse, and all they want to do in the end is die. Sooo sad... :,,() cyaz |
